The action-packed extreme sports game “Descenders Next” has exited Early Access and is now playable on Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. It’s priced at $29.99, £24.99, or €28.99, as confirmed by publishers No More Robots and developers RageSquid.
Descenders Next first launched in Early Access on April 9.
Here is an overview of the game, via No More Robots:
Descenders Next aspires to be the ultimate extreme sports game, offering snowboarding, mountainboarding, and gradually introducing additional pulse-pounding activities down the line.
Developing further on the triumph of Descenders, a game that has amassed 35 million players since its debut seven years ago, Descenders Next represents the organic progression of the initial experience. As we pondered over the question: Where do we take Descenders next? How can we preserve the same thrill, the same rush, but transcend mountain biking?, the concept of refining the fluidity across multiple sports emerged.
Using Descenders Next, players embark on an adventure where they’ll master the art of snowboarding in icy peaks, followed by the raw thrill of mountainboarding in rugged highlands. Each sport offers unique sensations and handling, requiring players to adapt and conquer every intricate part of Next.
In essence, the game Descenders Next offers an equivalent amount of content to the original Descenders, boasting real-time multiplayer gaming, a plethora of stunts and grinds to perform, and numerous vast landscapes to traverse. As players ascend the mountain, they’ll amass reputation points which can be used to acquire fresh boards, kits, helmets, goggles, and other customization options for their rider.
Previously, Descenders featured tracks generated procedurally along with custom-made parks. With Descenders Next, we’ve blended these elements seamlessly to offer a more organic gameplay experience. Players will navigate procedural off-piste mountains that flow smoothly into intricate, winding parks and stunning vistas.
The parks offer unique and thrilling experiences that double as Next’s playgrounds filled with enjoyment. At times, you might find yourself racing down the slopes with your companions at maximum speed, while other moments call for honing your tricks and mastering landings. Scavenger hunts encourage exploration of every nook and cranny of the mountain, rewarding those who delve deepest with special prizes.
To complete the experience, add a fantastic soundtrack from Monstercat, which features the best in drum and bass music. This will give you additional reasons to enjoy your time on the ski slopes for extended periods, relaxing and grooving to these up-to-date tracks.
