Of all the PS5 consoles sold in USA last year, approximately 13% of them were PS5 Pro models.
Wow, that’s a really good number for the new system! It’s about what we saw with the PS4 Pro – around 13% of all PS4s sold in the US were the Pro model, so this feels right on track.
The PS5 Pro is quite a bit pricier than the original PS5, costing $749.99 or £699.99. In fact, all current PS5 models are more expensive than the PS4 was when it first launched.
Ultimately, this shows Sony has found a winning approach: people clearly want more powerful gaming hardware.
Sales might continue to rise this year, especially if the recently announced improvements to the PSSR system deliver significant benefits.
Whether or not this happens largely depends on Sony maintaining stable prices for its consoles. The current issues with RAM supply could still lead to price increases, making the consoles even more expensive.
