Due to severe flooding in China that impacted one of its factories, Thrilljoy had to adjust its plans for New York Comic Con (NYCC). However, the company still managed a successful presence by teaming up with Toy Temple and showcasing its products at their booth, where its leaders also had a discussion with TopMob.
Karissa Marston from Thrilljoy said they had planned a large presence at the convention, including a booth and a party, but the recent severe floods changed those plans. Their top priority is everyone’s safety, and they were able to quickly create a new plan for New York Comic-Con.
We had planned a large exhibit with a booth and a party, but unfortunately, our factory in China was severely flooded due to the recent bad weather. Thankfully, everyone is safe. We’re very grateful to our friends at Toy Temple for helping us quickly change plans and still showcase some of our products, even though we couldn’t offer anything exclusive this time.
Toy Temple released special items, featuring popular characters from Ben 10 and Man At Arms. Thrilljoy was thrilled to collaborate on these releases, which helped them offer products that felt unique and special to their customers.
Thrilljoy, a company started by Brian Mariotti, the former CEO of Funko, first appeared at New York Comic Con last year. Since then, the company has shown it’s serious about letting fans help shape its future, according to Marston.
Our fans are central to everything we do, and we’re committed to creating things they’ll enjoy. We carefully considered all the feedback we received – especially from our Fan Advisory Board – to build a product we’re proud of and that our fans will want to collect.
Looking Ahead to Thrilljoy’s Future

Marston didn’t share many details about Thrilljoy’s upcoming projects (you can learn more about their mascot, who appeared last year), but she hinted at some exciting things to come.
Thrilljoy intends to significantly increase the number of IPs it features next year. According to Marston, fans can also look forward to seeing some lesser-known characters from existing franchises the company handles.
As a movie fan, I’m seriously hyped for 2026! It looks like things are about to explode with new content. They’re planning to basically double their library of movies and shows, and they’re digging into some really interesting, lesser-known characters alongside the stuff we already love. Honestly, it sounds like a ton of great stuff is on the way!
She also highlighted several officially licensed products in development, such as those based on Dexter, Astro Boy, and the Universal Monsters – the last of which just became available.
Marston added that what she cannot share yet is among her “dream stuff:”
I’m working on a few exciting projects that I think my fans will really enjoy, though I can’t share all the details just yet. They’re definitely in line with what I’m passionate about and what my fans already know and love about my work.
