Deus Ex Remastered Delayed to “Better Meet Fan Expectations”

Aspyr has pushed back the release of Deus Ex Remastered. Originally scheduled for February 5, 2026, the game will now launch at an unspecified date on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

The developer explained the delay was due to feedback from players, and a desire to create the best possible game. They’ll share more information later, but are currently offering full refunds to everyone who pre-ordered the game.

Originally released last September, Deus Ex Remastered promised updated graphics, improved controller compatibility, a redesigned interface, and enhanced lighting and shadows. However, the remastered version received a mixed reaction from fans. Many criticized the new lighting, saying it negatively impacted the game’s atmosphere, and felt the character models looked too different from the original game.

Aspyr has a mixed track record with remasters, having released both disappointing ones like the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection and well-received titles such as the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered. It’s currently working on Deus Ex Remastered, and we’ll have to wait and see how they approach this new version. Keep an eye out for future updates.
