Devolver Digital, working with developers Deconstructeam and Selkie Harbour, has revealed a new action adventure game called Virtue and a Sledgehammer. It’s planned for release on PC through Steam in 2026.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
Most people resort to therapy. But you chose the brave option. A sledgehammer.
In Virtue and a Sledgehammer, you’ll investigate the remnants of your hometown, now populated by ghostly androids based on the people who used to live there. The game doesn’t offer a straightforward route, so you’ll need to forge your own path by demolishing anything that blocks you.
This will be a difficult journey, not just because of the dangerous robots now controlling the mountains, but also because destroying the last pieces of your past will bring up painful, and sometimes bittersweet, memories.
A game about family, traditions, and being a misfit.
20 Pounds of Physical Media
Smash your way through the robotic copies of people and the structures they inhabit with powerful blows. But will this act of destruction truly bring you peace, or will it only intensify your suffering?

A Narrative Experience at Heart
Destroying your past inevitably brings up painful memories. This game uses immersive scenes to explore your deepest fears and desires, as well as the complicated strengths and weaknesses of your family.
I Wish You Could Experience Life Without Pain
Flesh is a source of aches and tainted humors.
It’s only now, devoid of bones, devoid of hunger, that I can tell you…
I have never been happier.
