Some viewers suspected that Aaron Spencer might have been the main antagonist in the initial season of Dexter: Original Sin, but few could have anticipated this twist. In episode 6 of Dexter: Resurrection titled Cat and Mouse, Dexter becomes fixated on Gareth, also known as The Gemini Killer. This fascination stems from Gareth’s egotism and arrogance, causing Dexter to trail him to a bookstore. Here, he uncovers a mysterious message intended for an unidentified recipient, eventually leading to an encounter with Gareth at his apartment.
In a turn of events, Dexter calmly drugs Gareth by adding M99 into his drink and subsequently ends his life in haste, hurrying through his usual process. Post this, Dexter attends to Gareth’s remains, and later finds himself at a helipad, an unexpected arrangement orchestrated by Leon Prater. Now, it’s only Dexter and Al left within Prater’s circle. Unaware of Gareth’s disappearance, the helicopter waits for his arrival. A car pulls up instead, and out steps Gareth, taking a seat next to Dexter in the awaiting helicopter.
In a sudden epiphany, Dexter discerns an astonishing revelation: The Gemini Killer isn’t a single murderer, but rather a duo – identical twins, to be precise. The name itself hints at this, as the Gemini constellation is depicted as twin stars. It appears that the culprit, Gareth, has been committing crimes in tandem with his brother. However, it remains uncertain how much either twin is aware of the situation, and this new development could potentially stir up complications for Dexter himself.
