Fans of “Dexter: Resurrection” are in for a treat as the premiere draws near this week. After a lengthy hiatus, enthusiasts of the beloved serial killer character Dexter have been eagerly awaiting his return to screens. Following what seemed like a final farewell at the end of “Dexter: New Blood” in 2022, fans were disheartened by Michael C. Hall’s apparent departure. Yet, it appears that Hall may not have fully closed the chapter on Dexter as he had initially thought. In August 2023, he reconnected with the creative team to explore reviving the character… and thus, the sequel series “Dexter: Resurrection” was conceived.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the long-awaited new series is set to debut this very Friday! This summer blockbuster could very well be the talk of the town. Intriguingly, Paramount+ has rolled out an exclusive offer for a limited time: sign up to their streaming service for just 99 cents before the show’s premiere – a move that seems designed to entice fans to catch the new series! But here’s another perk for those of us planning to watch the premiere over the weekend: there’s an added surprise in store, making the experience even more exciting!
Dexter: Resurrection Fans Get Treated to Two-Episode Premiere This Week
The debut of “Dexter: Resurrection” will offer a double dose of excitement, with not one but two episodes airing simultaneously. This translates to approximately two hours of captivating Dexter action right from the start. Similar to “Dexter: Original Sin,” there was a week with two episodes initially, but it had a caveat – there was a gap in episodes during its run. At this point, there’s no hint that “Dexter: Resurrection” will follow suit with an episode-free week later in the season. Instead, it appears that this double episode release is just one more tactic to entice fans. We now have the titles and brief summaries for both premiere episodes of “Dexter: Resurrection,” which establish the show’s central conflicts and hint at Dexter’s initial victim.
In approximately ten weeks following the finale of “New Blood,” the storyline titled “Dexter: Resurrection” unfolds. After emerging from a coma, Dexter embarks on a journey to New York City in search of his estranged son. No longer concealing himself under the alias Jim Lindsay, Dexter is now a free man. However, his old friend and colleague Angel Batista, who previously believed Dexter was deceased, has launched an investigation into him. In the final episode of “New Blood,” Batista was tipped off by Angela Bishop that not only is Dexter alive, but he’s suspected to be the infamous Florida serial killer known as the Bay Harbor Butcher. The upcoming season of Dexter promises a high-drama narrative.
The revival series “Dexter: Resurrection” has plans for multiple seasons, given Michael C. Hall’s dedication to portraying Dexter in the near future. This initial season consists of ten episodes, suggesting it may conclude around early September. As for additional installments, we’ll have to wait and see. It appears that Paramount is optimistic about the show’s future, so another season might not be far off. Additionally, the second season of “Dexter: Original Sin” is currently being penned.
