With the second season of the Dexter sequel, Dexter: New Blood, on the way, a new actor has joined the cast.
Brian Cox, known for his recent role in the hit HBO series Succession, will be joining Michael C Hall in the upcoming season.
Okay, so Courtney Cox is taking on a really interesting role. She’s going to be playing The New York Ripper – a notorious serial killer who haunted the city back in the day. And honestly? Knowing Cox’s talent – she’s won an Emmy, Olivier, and Golden Globe, after all – I have a feeling she’s going to absolutely nail this dark and complex character.
Although he’s stopped actively killing, he continues to torment those who survived his past crimes, seemingly embracing his reputation as a murderer.

In the first season of the Dexter revival, ‘Dexter: New Blood,’ detectives Claudette Wallace (played by Kadia Saraf) and Melvin Oliva (played by Dominic Fumusa) discovered documents that led them to a suspect in the old ‘New York Ripper’ case, a man named Don Framt.
Brian Cox is well-known for his role in Succession, but he’s also been in many other popular projects. These include the TV series Doctor Who, Good Omens, and 007: Road to a Million, and films like Manhunter, The Bourne Identity, X2, Troy, Zodiac, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.
Details about season 2 are still being kept secret, including which familiar faces will return alongside Hall and Cox, and who will be new to the cast.
