The makers of the series titled “Dexter: Resurrection” have already planned numerous seasons for the program. At the finale of “Dexter: New Blood“, viewers were saddened as Dexter Morgan met his demise. As the show progressed, it seemed to lose some favor among fans due to its hurried attempt at resolving various plot threads (and concurrently introducing new ones). This left fans feeling somewhat unsatisfied. However, with a significant level of interest and a call from Michael C. Hall, the team managing the series discovered a method to revive Dexter in “Dexter: Resurrection“.
Resurrection” boasts a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, although this may change as more critics watch and critique the show over the coming days and weeks. Despite this potential decrease, the positive feedback so far is a promising indicator for the series, suggesting that it could be a major success for Paramount.
Dexter: Resurrection Writers Pitched Three Seasons to Michael C. Hall, But There Could Be More
In a conversation with Collider, creators Clyde Phillips and Scott Reynolds were inquired about the length they plan to sustain Dexter: Resurrection. Phillips mentioned that it’s partially contingent on how long Michael C. Hall wishes to participate, but Hall has agreed to star in several seasons of the series. Reynolds added that they proposed a trilogy of Dexter: Resurrection when they started working on the show, yet hinted at its potential to carry on, implying there’s potential for more if everyone is game. However, whether the third season also has an ending concept is still undecided.
The TV series “Dexter” has been known for its debatable conclusions, so it’s intriguing to ponder how they might wrap things up in the future. Michael C. Hall, who plays Dexter, revealed to Jake Hamilton that he feels the most sensible endings for the show haven’t always been the ones that struck a chord with viewers. He even playfully suggested that Dexter might need to be launched into space to secure a conclusive ending. Given that they’ve already tried killing off Dexter once, and it didn’t pan out, it seems improbable he’ll meet his demise again. Prison could be an obvious choice, but it might be too grim at this stage due to the strong bond fans have formed with the character. Perhaps Dexter will finally receive a happy ending, but we likely won’t know for several years yet.
The upcoming show titled “Dexter: Resurrection” is anticipated to be a major summer hit, with Paramount pulling out all the stops in its marketing efforts. This includes sky-written advertisements on planes, trivia events at New York baseball matches, billboards in Times Square, and numerous other promotional strategies.
Dexter: Resurrection premieres on July 11th with a special two episode premiere.
