I’m having more fun with Diablo 4 Season 11 than any previous season! I quickly completed the seasonal journey using a very powerful Paladin, and I’m taking a break for now.
Great news! We’re returning to Diablo 4 on Monday when the Tower opens.
The new leaderboard challenge for Diablo 4 is coming with Patch 2.5.2 on January 12th as a beta test, and I’m really excited to see how my Paladin stacks up against my friends’ – especially since everyone seems to be playing Paladin right now!
Everything you need to know about the Tower

The Tower and Leaderboards are still in early testing, so we’re likely to find and report some issues as Blizzard allows players to try it out.
The Tower is a fast-paced dungeon with many floors. Try to complete as many floors as you can within 10 minutes to climb the leaderboard! Each attempt will have a different layout, with unpredictable enemies and helpful power-ups appearing along the way. Your score depends on how many monsters you defeat and Orbs you gather.
Once you’ve made sufficient progress, a boss enemy will appear. You must defeat this boss before the time runs out – you have 10 minutes!
Leaderboards will be organized by game class, party size, and whether players are in Hardcore or Normal mode. You’ll also be able to filter the results to see rankings specifically for PC or console players.
How do I unlock the Tower in Diablo 4?
You will need to have completed at least Rank 2 of the Season Journey.
Go to the Obelisk in Cerrigar (the entrance to The Pit). Once you’ve finished The Pit on any difficulty, you can then attempt the Tower on that same difficulty. You’ll have 10 minutes, starting when you leave the first section, to finish the Tower.
When will Leaderboards open and close?
Leaderboards will be active for two-week periods, starting when the game launches and continuing until the Season of Divine Intervention ends. For instance:
- Round 1: January 12, 11:00 a.m. PST—January 26, 11:00 a.m. PST
- Round 2: January 26, 11:00 a.m. PST—February 9, 11:00 a.m. PST
Once the season ends and leaderboards are no longer updated, they won’t be visible again until the next season begins.
The start of an interesting year for Diablo 4

As an analyst, I’ve been really impressed with Season 11 so far. I expect the return of the Tower to inject even more energy into the game. Overall, it’s a thrilling period for Diablo 4, especially with the Lord of Hatred expansion launching on April 28th – we’re getting closer and closer to that release!
I’m feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety because the upcoming expansion is going to significantly change the game, and it’s currently in a pretty balanced state.
Okay, so February is shaping up to be huge! Blizzard’s anniversary is coming, and they’ve hinted at a Diablo reveal – I’m really curious what that’s all about. We already know another class is planned for the expansion, and I’m actually going to be finding out what it is soon. But honestly, that’s just the beginning; it looks like it’s going to be a seriously action-packed year for gaming!
