Did You Get In? Beta Invites for Horizon’s Divisive PS5, PC Multiplayer Game Out Now

Good news! We’ve just sent out the beta invitations for Horizon Hunters Gathering. Please check your email inbox to see if you’ve received yours. (Updated February 26th, 2026, 9:30am)

Just so you know, signing up for the PlayStation Beta Program doesn’t guarantee you’ll be selected, as this is a limited first test. Don’t worry if you aren’t chosen – we plan to have more chances to try it out later.

This test version is confidential, so we ask that you don’t stream or share any videos of it. However, we expect some footage will likely appear online this weekend anyway.

Guerrilla Games is serious about their new game! The first closed beta test for Horizon Hunters Gathering will begin this weekend.

That’s right – a limited number of fans will get to play the game very soon, according to an email from PlayStation.

Players enrolled in the PlayStation Beta Program may be chosen to participate, but this test is currently limited to those in Europe and North America.

The closed beta test will get underway from 27th February and run until 1st March.

The servers will be online during the following hours:

Europe
7:00 PM – 10:00 PM CET
North America
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM PST

Players can choose from three characters – Axle, Rem, and Sun. The game will feature two modes, Machine Incursion and Cauldron Descent, and take place on the Colorado Springs map that was previously revealed.

Plus, you can try out Gathering, a shared social area where you can personalize your campsite.

It’s notable that Sony is holding this event during the Marathon Server Slam, but because it’s a closed beta, we believe Guerrilla is simply gathering feedback as they continue developing the game.

Because the footage is subject to a non-disclosure agreement, don’t anticipate seeing a lot of new gameplay revealed – though some will likely leak online, as usually happens.

A key takeaway from the Concord project was the importance of getting players involved early in development, so it’s encouraging to see a playtest for Horizon Hunters Gathering scheduled so quickly after the game was revealed.

We’re optimistic about the initial launch of Guerrilla and excited to test it out, if we receive an invitation.

Remember, if you’ve not signed up for the PlayStation Beta Program, you can do so through here.
