Last year, Digimon fans finally got a new game in the Digimon Story series, and Time Stranger proved that people are still excited about the Digidestined and exploring the Digital World. Digimon Story: Time Stranger has already received several downloadable content packs to keep players engaged, and there’s even more on the horizon. A new mobile trading card game, Digimon Alysion, is already in development, and now Bandai Namco has confirmed they’re working on another new Digimon game.
At this year’s Digimon Con stream, fans were shown what’s coming next for the Digimon franchise. The stream often happens at inconvenient times for viewers in the U.S., so some fans might miss the announcements. Luckily, a replay is available where you can see a brand-new Digimon game, Digimon Up!, which is planned for release in 2026. This game will be a free-to-play RPG available on mobile devices later this year.
New Mobile Digimon RPG Could Be the Next Digivolution of VPets
At Digimon Con 2026, the new mobile RPG, Digimon Up!, was revealed. The game appears to capture the classic Digimon experience that fans love, including hatching Digi Eggs and using Digivices. While the reveal was just a short teaser trailer, details are still limited, but early impressions have fans excited and hopeful about what’s to come.
Digimon Up! is coming to mobile devices as a free-to-play game. While fans are excited, they’re waiting to see how the game will make money, as that could impact the experience. If Bandai Namco does it well, though, Digimon Up! has the potential to be as popular as Pokémon Go and become the definitive Digimon game on mobile.
The upcoming Digimon RPG aims to recreate the classic experience of raising and training Digimon. It will showcase new pixel art for beloved characters like Agumon and Patamon, with the trailer highlighting the Digivolution process from egg to fully-grown Digimon. Many fans are excited, hoping this game will be a fresh take on the popular Digimon VPet, which originally started as digital pet toys similar to Tamagotchi. Official VPet releases have become less common in Western markets in recent years.

The new mobile game, Digimon Up!, aims to recreate the experience of raising and training Digimon, just like in the original series. The official website confirms players will feed and train their Digimon to make them stronger, and battles will be a key part of the gameplay. Digimon Cards and Digivices will also be featured. Scheduled for release on Android and iOS in 2026, fans are hoping to learn more details about the game soon.
Hey Digimon fans! A new mobile game is supposedly coming out in 2026 and I’m super hyped! What do you think? Let’s chat about it over on the ComicBook Forum – come join the discussion!
