It’s been quite some time since we last saw Digimon on anime screens, but given that Digimon: Ghost Game ended more than two years back, it seems like Digimon: Beat Break is ready to take over. The digital monsters have been steadily growing their presence in anime, video games, and other media, leaving fans eagerly waiting for the next step in the series. Although details about Beat Break are still scarce, Toei Animation has hinted at a new protagonist and his digital monster, as well as the release date of the first episode.
The latest Digimon series, titled “Beat Break,” has introduced its main character as a 15-year-old high school student named Tomorrow Tenma. Unlike previous characters who had companions like Agumon or Gabumon, Tomorrow is set to embark on his adventures with Gekkomon, a reptilian digital monster that has some big shoes to fill. As of now, the release date for this new series remains undisclosed, but it’s been confirmed that Japanese fans will get to watch episode one at the Digimon Expo 2025. The premiere episode will be screened during the event later this year, with the convention scheduled to take place at Tokyo Dome City Prism Hall on September 20th and 21st. Fans outside of Japan will have to wait until October to catch the series in its entirety. You can watch the trailer and new poster for “Beat Break” below.
Digimon Are The Champions
In addition to launching fresh anime series centered on digital monsters, another video game installment titled “Digimon Story: Time Stranger” will be released later in the year. This game is scheduled for console and PC release on October 3rd, coinciding perfectly with “Beat Break”. The initial glimpses of the game have left many digital monster fans questioning if the video game might share a closer narrative link to the anime stories than initially anticipated. While it remains uncertain whether it connects to “Digimon Adventure”, the game is planning to feature approximately 450 Digimon in its collection, offering plenty for enthusiasts to explore this autumn.
Apart from “Time Stranger”, Digimon has announced a new mobile game called “Digimon Alysion”. This game, inspired by their card game, will release additional details at this year’s Anime Expo, happening from July 3rd to the 6th during summer. With numerous anime franchises on showcase, it will be intriguing to observe if Digimon can unveil significant, headline-grabbing news to keep pace with other series that are also being featured at the event.
