Disclosure Day Trailer Reveals Steven Spielberg’s First Sci-fi Movie in 7 Years (And It’s Unlike Any of His Other Hits)

For more than a year, Steven Spielberg’s next film has been kept under wraps, with no title even announced. We only knew the director of classics like E.T. and Close Encounters was returning to science fiction with a new movie about aliens. Now, Universal Pictures has revealed the title – Disclosure Day – and released a first look at the film in a new teaser trailer, which you can watch below. Disclosure Day is scheduled to hit theaters on June 12, 2026.

The new film, Disclosure Day, features a stellar cast including Emily Blunt (known for Oppenheimer and A Quiet Place), Josh O’Connor (Emmy and Golden Globe winner from Challengers and The Crown), Oscar winner Colin Firth (The King’s Speech and the Kingsman films), Eve Hewson (Bad Sisters, The Perfect Couple), and Colman Domingo (twice Oscar-nominated for Sing Sing and Rustin). Directed by Steven Spielberg, who also conceived the story, the screenplay was written by David Koepp, a frequent collaborator, with whom Spielberg has worked on films like Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The movie’s story comes from an idea by Steven Spielberg, and the screenplay is by David Koepp, a frequent collaborator.
