Disney Brings Edward Scissorhands To 4K Blu-ray With a Sharp Steelbook

Tim Burton’s classic film Edward Scissorhands, featuring Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder, was originally released in December 1990, meaning it’s turning 35 this year! Disney is giving fans a special treat this Halloween with the very first 4K UHD Blu-ray release of Edward Scissorhands. Plus, it comes in a beautiful, Limited Edition Steelbook case.

Disney has announced that this restoration will feature both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. However, the extra features seem to be older ones, including a behind-the-scenes look and audio commentary by director Tim Burton and composer Danny Elfman. The main highlight is definitely the restoration itself, along with the stunning Steelbook packaging. The front cover shows Kim’s face reflected in broken glass. Turning it over, you’ll also see her reflection on Edward’s blades as he shyly looks through them. Inside, there’s a beautiful picture of Edward walking down the stairs.

Celebrate 35 years of Edward Scissorhands with the new 4K Blu-ray Steelbook! It will be released on October 28th, and you’ll be able to pre-order it soon.

This 2-disc 4K Blu-ray release of Edward Scissorhands also includes the movie on Blu-ray and as a digital copy. Because it’s a limited edition, it won’t be available forever, and considering how popular the film is and how great the cover art looks, we anticipate it will sell out quickly. As of right now, pre-orders haven’t started yet, but they should be available here on Amazon and here at Walmart within the next few days. The movie will be delivered to you on October 28th, so you can start planning a Halloween movie night!

Edward Scissorhands will become available to rent or buy digitally on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home starting October 28th.

Just a few days ago, on September 23rd, Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride was also released on 4K Blu-ray. Unlike the release of Edward Scissorhands, it was available immediately in both a 4K Steelbook edition and a standard 4K Blu-ray version. It’s likely that Edward Scissorhands will also receive a standard 4K Blu-ray release once the Steelbook copies are sold.
