In a thrilling turn of events, Star Wars is set to reintroduce over a dozen beloved Jedi in its upcoming Disney+ series, sparking renewed enthusiasm from a distant galaxy. Building on the acclaim garnered by the release of Andor earlier this year, the platform is expanding its offerings with both live-action and animated projects, leaving fans eagerly awaiting what’s next. This fresh animated series aims to delve deeper into various alternate character narratives, as seen in 2024’s predecessor.
Disney Plus is all set to bring more out-of-this-world excitement with the four-part sequel to the popular LEGO Star Wars series titled “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuilding Galaxies – Echoes of the Past“.
Starting from September 19, 2025, the series will carry on, presenting more chaotic escapades of Sig Greebling and his companions as they encounter a violet fissure causing characters and items to merge unpredictably in bizarre combinations.
Audience members should be prepared for some beloved characters to return, such as Grogu, commonly known as Baby Yoda from Star Wars, along with Lando and K-2SO. Furthermore, they can anticipate encounters with a band of chilling new adversaries, including the menacing Solitus.
After the thrilling saga of Rebuilding the Galaxy last year, this time around in Pieces of the Past, I find myself immersed in a cosmos brimming with characters that can easily be considered heroes – yet, their heroism is often clouded by unconventional qualities.
In a twist, familiar faces take on new roles as we see the antagonistic side of Jar Jar Binks (Sith-like) and a more Jedi-esque version of Darth Vader, among others, team up with Sig in an endeavor to bring balance back to their world.
Every Jedi in LEGO Star Wars: Pieces of the Past
Sig Greebling
In the initial version of “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy”, Sig Greebling serves as the main character, lent his voice by Gaten Matarazzo known for his role in “Stranger Things”. It’s Sig who accidentally pulls out a potent Jedi relic, thus igniting the chaotic interweaving of multiple universes.
In the story titled “Pieces of the Past“, a young individual gifted in the Force unites with his sibling Dev and Jedi Bob to confront a fresh danger. Utilizing his unique ability to construct using the Force, he strives to mend the galaxy from the brink of chaos.
Bobarian Afol (Jedi Bob)
In a fresh and understandable rewording: Bob, the peculiar minifigure with yellow skin from the 2002 Attack of the Clones Republic Gunship set, first appeared in animation within Rebuild the Galaxy, portrayed as a wise (yet forgetful at times) protector of the Jedi temple. This character was given voice by Bobby Moynihan, known for his work on SNL.
In “Pieces of the Past,” he guides Sig through the chaos brought by his former mentor Solitus, combining classic LEGO appeal with acrobatic lightsaber moves that highlight why this lesser-known Jedi has captivated fans for more than twenty years.
Jedi Vader
In the alternate reality of “Rebuild the Galaxy”, Darth Vader undergoes a dramatic transformation, switching roles from the infamous dark-side character of the original trilogy to a heroic, white-armored Force-user. The renowned Matt Sloan, known for his portrayal of Vader, lends his voice to this iconic character, bringing with it the distinctive breath sounds that have become synonymous with Darth Vader.
In “Pieces of the Past,” he teams up with an unconventional Jedi group to ward off ominous dangers. In the preview, his voice is heard exclaiming, “Your excessive faith… is inspiring!
Luke Skywalker
In the remixed world of “Rebuild the Galaxy,” Luke Skywalker, who is voiced by Mark Hamill himself, adopts a laid-back, beach-style podracer persona. In “Pieces of the Past,” he makes a surprise appearance as a special guest character to aid Sig in navigating the mayhem.
Jedi Master Palpatine
In the story of “Rebuild the Galaxy“, the cunning Emperor Palpatine from the prequel and original films is transformed into a wise guide for the light side, with voice acting by Trevor Devall.
In the story titled “Pieces of the Past“, a well-meaning character in robes heads up a reversed faction of Jedi, known as the Uno, to triumph over Solitus for the common welfare.
Jedi Dooku
In the alternate reality of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, Jedi Dooku is reimagined as a noble light-side combatant rather than the Sith Lord we know from Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
As a self-proclaimed movie enthusiast, I can’t help but appreciate the intricate detail in the film “Pieces of the Past.” In this cinematic masterpiece, my character skillfully uses a curved-hilt lightsaber that somehow evokes the genius mind of Star Wars creator George Lucas in its LEGO design.
Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka Tano, the groundbreaking former Jedi, recently highlighted her live-action series that’s coming back for Season 2. In the LEGO-themed collection “Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past“, she makes an appearance as a BrickHeadz figure, with Ashley Eckstein, who originally animated her, providing the voice.
Cal Kestis
As a passionate Star Wars fan, I’m thrilled to share that the resilient Jedi survivor, Cal Kestis, who we’ve grown to love in the video games Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor, is jumping from console screens to his debut on Disney+ in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past. The character will be voiced by Cameron Monaghan.
In an unofficial, action-packed deviation, the character with fiery red hair enters the chaos, brandishing a blue lightsaber. Notably, he appears on promotional material next to Ahsoka Tano and Grogu as well.
In an off-script, brick-filled alteration, the ginger rebel dives into the turmoil, using his electric blue lightsaber. Remarkably, he is seen on posters with Ahsoka Tano and Grogu too.
Bonuses: New Force-Users In ‘Pieces of the Past’
Jedi Cad Bane
In the game LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, the merciless bounty hunter Cad Bane from The Clone Wars and The Book of Boba Fett series is reimagined as a skilled marksman who allies with the light side. This character is voiced by Corey Burton.
In “Pieces of the Past”, he exchanges rewards for Jedi tasks, defeating enemies with the nonchalance of a cowboy and the precision of a lightsaber. Although this tale doesn’t fall within the core Star Wars narrative, it has been confirmed in canon that Cad is a father.
Jedi Jannah
In the sequel “Rebuild the Galaxy,” Jedi Jannah is depicted as transforming the fierce Resistance warrior from “The Rise of Skywalker” into a lightsaber-wielding Jedi, with Naomi Ackie providing her voice, using her real-life persona.
Jedi Jabba
In the story “Rebuild the Galaxy,” the character Jabba the Hutt, who almost had his own movie, undergoes a transformation from a slime-covered crime boss antagonist into a saggy, wise figure aligned with the Light Side. Notably, Kevin Michael Richardson lends his voice to this revamped version of Jabba.
Who’d have thought the galaxy’s greediest gangster could become such a jolly Jedi?
Jedi IG-88
In the story “Rebuild the Galaxy,” the droid character IG-88, originally an assassin and bounty hunter from “The Empire Strikes Back,” transforms into a golden-armored, light-side Jedi warrior.
Jedi Lobot
In the revamped universe of “Rebuild the Galaxy”, cybernetic Jedi Lobot enhances the tech-focused admin character from “The Empire Strikes Back”.
From assistant at Cloud City to wise saber-wielder, Lobot’s courageous intelligence will infuse a lively energy into what might just be the most comical Jedi team in history.
