Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is expected to be a major movie release this month, especially considering the success of the first film. Despite being available for streaming on its release date, the first Five Nights at Freddy’s movie still earned over eighty million dollars during its opening weekend. Interestingly, Disney is releasing a new installment from another popular franchise, but unlike Five Nights at Freddy’s, it will premiere directly on Disney+, potentially competing for viewers.
December 5th will be a busy day for family entertainment! Both the new Five Nights at Freddy’s movie and the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid film are being released on the same day. While it might not compete with the horror flick, this will be the eighth Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie overall. There have been four live-action films and this new one will be the fourth animated installment. Titled Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw, the movie centers on Greg Heffley’s challenging relationship with his dad, and his attempts to improve things to avoid being sent to military school. It’s an animated film and will be available to stream on Disney+ only – so don’t expect to see it in theaters.
Another Night at Freddy’s

The story behind Five Nights at Freddy’s has become incredibly well-known, thanks to the video games, books, graphic novels, and even music that explore its origins and explain why the franchise became so popular. Now, in the second movie, Freddy and his animatronic friends have escaped and appear ready to cause trouble around the globe. The main character, Mike, and his sister Abby are once again caught up in this spooky story, and we can expect to see both familiar and new creepy characters appear.
As of today, a third live-action Five Nights at Freddy’s movie hasn’t been officially announced. However, given the series’ popularity, it’s likely we’ll see more movies in the future. The Five Nights at Freddy’s video game series includes over twenty games across various platforms, creating a complex storyline. The franchise has become very profitable for Blumhouse, making further movies a strong possibility. While Diary of Wimpy Kid isn’t likely to venture into horror, it’s another major franchise that could compete for audience attention.
