2026 will be a big year for Star Wars, with the return of many Jedi characters in both movies and on Disney+. Several popular faces from the franchise, since Disney acquired Lucasfilm, will appear in a series of releases throughout the year. The first of these is a new film, The Mandalorian & Grogu, scheduled for release on May 22, 2026 – marking the first Star Wars film to hit theaters since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.
In late 2026, Disney+ will release the second season of Ahsoka, which is expected to significantly impact the future of the Star Wars universe connected by The Mandalorian. Fans can also look forward to the first spin-off from the Star Wars: Visions anthology series, titled Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi.
In 2026, a new series called Maul: Shadow Lord will be released, continuing the story after The Clone Wars and leading up to Star Wars Rebels. The show will bridge the gap between those two series and will feature Sam Witwer reprising his role as Maul.
All of the upcoming Star Wars projects planned for 2026 are guaranteed to feature at least one Jedi, with the exception of the Maul series. While Jedi might still make a surprise appearance in Maul, it hasn’t been officially confirmed.
Every Jedi Returning to Star Wars in 2026
Grogu

Even though Grogu isn’t currently a Jedi Knight or Master, and may no longer be connected to the Jedi Order, he still has Jedi powers. He originally began his training at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant before the tragic events of Order 66.
Grogu is coming back in The Mandalorian & Grogu, continuing his adventures with Din Djarin. Throughout The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Grogu has often used his connection to the Force – especially during his training with Luke Skywalker – and fans will finally get to see those powers displayed on the big screen in May.
Lah Kara

Lah Kara is the central character in two episodes of Star Wars: Visions that are part of the “Ninth Jedi” storyline. A spin-off series called Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi is planned for release in 2026, though the exact release date is still unknown.
Whenever the new series comes out, viewers will continue to follow Lah Kara’s story as she develops her Jedi skills. We last saw her fleeing bounty hunters on a spaceship, where she promised to master the Force, improve as a Jedi, and save her father, Lah Zhima. The series will probably begin with her pursuing that goal.
Lah Zhima

Lah Zhima, the father of Lah Kara, will appear in Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi. While Visions and its related shows aren’t considered official Star Wars canon, they do have their own established storyline. Within that storyline, Lah Zhima is a famous and skilled lightsaber maker.
As we’ve heard, Lah Zhima was taken prisoner by Sith Jedi hunters. The new anime series will probably show what happened while he was held captive and how Lah Kara will rescue him.
Ahsoka Tano

I’m so excited for Season 2 of Ahsoka! While we’ll definitely be seeing some familiar Jedi faces return, it’s Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka who’s really driving the story forward. The last season left Ahsoka and Sabine stranded on this brand new galaxy called Peridea, and I can’t wait to see how they get out of that mess!
Shin Hati and Baylan Skoll, two of the main villains from Ahsoka, are both still stranded on Peridea, though they’ve gone their separate ways. While the story for Ahsoka Season 2 is still a mystery, the cliffhanger ending with Baylan Skoll strongly suggests the Mortis gods will play a role.
Sabine Wren

As a critic, I’ve always found Sabine Wren fascinating. While she’s not overflowing with the Force like a typical Jedi, her training under Ahsoka Tano does technically qualify her as one. We learned in Season 1 of Ahsoka that Sabine has some connection to the Force, but it’s nowhere near the power levels of characters like Ahsoka herself or Ezra Bridger. It’s more about the skills she learned than a natural, strong ability.
Sabine and Ahsoka temporarily stopped training together because Ahsoka felt Sabine wasn’t motivated by the right goals. They resumed training when they met again, and in Season 2 of Ahsoka, Sabine will probably continue to learn while she and Ahsoka are both stuck on the planet Peridea.
Ezra Bridger

The ending of Star Wars Rebels was particularly moving, with the main character Ezra Bridger seemingly sacrificing himself to save the galaxy. He sent himself and his enemy, Thrawn, into hyperspace, effectively disappearing. But surprisingly, Ezra reappeared in the series Ahsoka, having been transported to a completely different galaxy called Peridea.
Ezra found Ahsoka and Sabine, but after they became stranded on the planet Peridea, he secretly stowed away on Admiral Thrawn’s ship, the Chimaera, and returned to the central galaxy. He then connected with Hera Syndulla and is expected to help the New Republic prepare for the upcoming conflict with Thrawn.
Baylan Skoll

Despite the sad loss of Ray Stevenson, his character Baylan Skoll will appear in Season 2 of Ahsoka. Rory McCann, a friend of Stevenson and known for his role in Game of Thrones, will now play Baylan. While Baylan isn’t a Jedi in the current timeline of Ahsoka, he was once a very skilled Jedi warrior.
In the next season, Baylan will probably keep searching for the mysterious ancient power he discovered on Peridea. We don’t know exactly what this power is yet, but it’s likely connected to the Mortis gods. Some fans believe he might find Abeloth, a terrifyingly powerful being, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Shin Hati

Shin Hati is Baylan Skoll’s student, and she was deeply upset when he left her at the end of the first season. Similar to Baylan, Shin wasn’t a Jedi herself, but Baylan taught her using techniques he learned from Jedi training.
Following Baylan’s exit, Shin allied herself with the bandits on Peridea. She was last seen with them, but viewers anticipate she’ll become involved with Ahsoka, Sabine, and likely Baylan in Season 2. There’s a chance she might even switch to the side of good by the season’s end.
Anakin Skywalker

Hayden Christensen will be back as Anakin Skywalker in the second season of Ahsoka, likely making him the most prominent Jedi character in 2026. While the details of his appearance are still unknown, his role as a Force ghost in Season 1 suggests he’ll continue to guide or offer advice to Ahsoka.
If the Mortis gods appear in Season 2, Anakin might take a more direct role, given his previous encounters with them during The Clone Wars.
Marrok

Marrok was a Jedi who appeared in Season 1 of Ahsoka. He died in a lightsaber duel with Ahsoka, but instead of a normal death, green smoke escaped his body, revealing he wasn’t a real person. He was actually created by the Nightsisters of Dathomir.
It’s currently unclear if Marrok survived the fight, but he will appear in the upcoming comic Maul: Shadow Lord, which is set before the time he might have died.
The Eleventh Brother

The Eleventh Brother, an Inquisitor first seen battling Ahsoka in Tales of the Jedi, is also appearing in Maul: Shadow Lord.
The new Disney+ series will likely address how easily Obi-Wan Kenobi was defeated in his last appearance, offering a more satisfying outcome for fans.
BONUS: Devon Izara

Devon Izara, a Twi’lek Jedi, is introduced in the Maul: Shadow Lord comic series. She’s stranded on the planet Janix following the devastating events of Order 66.
After appearing alongside Darth Maul, some viewers have wondered if Devon might eventually transform into Darth Talon, a popular Sith character from the older, expanded Star Wars stories.
BONUS: Eeko-Dio-Daki

As a huge fan of the Maul: Shadow Lord series, I’m really excited to hear they’re adding another Jedi to the mix! Apparently, we’ll be meeting Master Eeko-Dio-Daki in the next few episodes, and I can’t wait to see what role they’ll play in the story.
Not much is known about this character yet, but a recent trailer revealed he can use the Force to halt vehicles in the undercity of Janix.
BONUS: Tel-Rea Vokkos

Tel-Rea Vokkos will be a character you can play in the upcoming 2026 Star Wars game, Zero Company. Details about her are limited, but we know she’s a Tognath Jedi who joined Zero Company after her master died.
