AdHoc Studio was likely surprised when Dispatch first became a hit, but the game’s success continues to grow. The critically acclaimed, chapter-based interactive drama has now sold two million copies.
It’s particularly noteworthy that Dispatch – a brand new game in a somewhat struggling genre – is performing so well, especially considering AdHoc Studio had previously set a three-year sales goal for it. The game was on track to hit that target in just three months, and it’s unclear if this latest success will lead the studio to revise its expectations. Only time will tell what happens next.
I just started playing Dispatch on PS5, and the story is pretty cool. You play as Robert Robertson, an ex-superhero who’s now in charge of a team of… well, former villains. The catch? They’re consistently the worst performers, so it’s up to me to whip them into shape! If you want to know how the whole season plays out, check out our full review.
We’re disappointed there won’t be a new episode this week, but we’re incredibly grateful to the 2 million players who have joined our community so far – we couldn’t do this without your support! Artwork by Derek Stratton.
