Do Pokémon evolve in Pokémon Pokopia?

One of many hallmarks of the Pokémon series is evolution, but do Pokémon evolve in Pokémon Pokopia?

While not all the features we expected are here yet – like shiny Pokémon – the core idea of collecting creatures is still a big part of the game!

Wondering if you can evolve your favorite Pokémon on your island? Here’s the information you need!

Do Pokémon evolve in Pokémon Pokopia?

Pokémon don’t typically evolve in Pokémon Pokopia. But that doesn’t mean you won’t find fully evolved Pokémon in the game.

In Pokopia, you attract Pokémon by building Habitats designed for the specific ones you want to collect.

This means each Pokémon in the game can be found in a unique way, and crucially, there’s only one of each Pokémon available in the entire game.

Okay, so here’s the thing – if I’ve already got both a Slowpoke and a Slowbro hanging out on my island, and then I evolve that Slowpoke, I end up with two Slowbro! The problem is, I can’t get another Slowpoke after that, which is a bummer.

To prevent this happening, there’s simply one of each Pokémon and no evolution.

Imagine Pokémon as characters in the game that always act the same way, unlike the Pokémon on your team that you can train and build a relationship with.

I’m not sure if the Pokopia team will ever add evolution – honestly, I think it’s pretty doubtful. It would just change how the game feels to play, and they seem really committed to keeping things as they are now.
