Dolly Parton is spreading some holiday cheer.
Dolly Parton sent a holiday message to her fans online, letting them know she’s been prioritizing her health and that’s why she hasn’t been out and about lately.
Dolly shared a Thanksgiving message on Instagram on November 27th, wishing everyone and their families all the best.
The 79-year-old shared a heartfelt message, saying how grateful she is for everyone and all the wonderful memories they’ve made together. She wished everyone a happy Thanksgiving and expressed her enduring love for them all.
This video offers a special look into Dolly Parton’s life, as she’s been making fewer public appearances lately because of health concerns. She recently couldn’t attend her induction into the IAAPA Hall of Fame, but sent a video message to accept the honor, recognizing her contributions through Dollywood theme park.
I was so sad to hear Dolly couldn’t be with us in person today! She shared a video on Dollywood’s Instagram explaining that she’s been having some health issues this fall, and her doctors have advised her to rest up for a bit. I’m sending her all my love and hoping she feels better soon.

The award-winning artist also missed the Academy’s Governors Awards a few days earlier, where she was scheduled to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. Instead, she appeared in a pre-recorded video to thank the Academy for the honorary Oscar.
Dolly Parton explained that her parents taught her through their actions that generosity leads to good fortune. She’s spent her life following that lesson and feels incredibly fortunate, pointing to the award she received that night as just one example of the blessings she’s experienced.
Now that Dolly is prioritizing her health, here are other celebrities who have openly shared their experiences with wellness.

Nikki Bella, known from Total Bellas, shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit during an elbow strike from wrestler Piper Niven in a match back in July 2025.
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, that they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as her career was over, she’d return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she planned to use them again and they couldn’t appear in their current condition.

I was so saddened to learn that Lupita Nyong’o was diagnosed with uterine fibroids back in 2014. It’s tough to think about her dealing with that while also experiencing the incredible high of winning her Oscar for 12 Years a Slave that same year. Uterine fibroids are these non-cancerous growths that can develop in or around the uterus, and it must have been a really challenging time for her.
She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that growing up, many of us are taught to expect periods to be painful, and to accept that pain as a normal part of womanhood. This often leaves people dealing with a common issue in isolation.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.
Oh my god, Suki just posted on X – she finally posted! It said, ‘Suki, you never tweet anymore!’ And then… then she followed it up with this insane confession. She was basically saying, ‘Have you ever stopped to think that maybe I haven’t been online because… get this… I wore pants so tight six months ago they gave me a hernia?!’ A HERNIABecause of pants! And she’s been too scared to tell me? I’m dying. I need answers. This is… everything.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery to repair a nearly ruptured appendix.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained he had a perforated appendix – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to it.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

During a soccer game against the Seattle Reign on September 14th, a Racing Louisville midfielder collapsed after only a few minutes of play at Lumen Field in Seattle.
As a lifestyle and wellness observer, I was really concerned to see one of the US Women’s National Team players go down during the game. Reports from Reuters showed her slowly sitting down with a teammate supporting her, and then, sadly, she collapsed just moments later. It was a scary situation, and thankfully, trainers immediately rushed to her side to provide medical attention.
Savannah received immediate medical attention on the field and was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and is alert.

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from a childhood accident – he was hit by a cement truck at age 11 – continue to cause him problems now.
“It’s been awful,” Devine shared on the 2025 episode of the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast. “I experience spasms all over my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the past year, actually.”
He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying, “My body has a few quirks and isn’t quite perfect.”

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital in severe back pain, reportedly crawling because it hurt so much. The pain flared up during a road trip with a friend while they were traveling in an RV.
He described a strange tingling sensation that still lingered in his legs as of March 2025, sharing this on his Trading Secrets podcast. To give some context, he explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds. Now, he can’t even do a squat, struggles with single-leg balance, and feels unsteady, comparing it to experiencing a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter, from The Real Housewives of Orange County, revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is now doing okay.

In March 2025, the actor from 30 Rock experienced a medical issue at a New York Knicks game and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.
The comedian later posted an update online, explaining he had food poisoning but was starting to feel better.

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.
According to her Instagram post, she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a gun unsafely. She said @thebrendanrooney quickly helped her and took her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet narrowly missed her right eye, coming within an inch of a direct hit.
The Kim Possible actor explained that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they’ll keep monitoring the situation, as their vision is currently normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving. She shared her deep love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, saying she realized how precious life is. “I saw everything I’ve lived through in a moment,” she explained, urging everyone to cherish their loved ones and hug them often, because life can change unexpectedly.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, even though it can be harsh, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and receiving critical comments online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome – a condition often caused by high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Amy to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She wouldn’t have known about the condition without the online scrutiny. Thankfully, doctors determined she had a type of Cushing syndrome that would resolve on its own, which Amy described as “the greatest news imaginable.” She’s now relieved to be healthy.

During a December 2024 game, an AHL player suffered a skate cut that required 25 stitches. His father, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald, shared with ESPN after his son’s recovery, “We feel very fortunate. No parent should have to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly began having stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to respond when Justin asked if she was okay. She then realized she couldn’t speak and the right side of her face started to droop.
Although the symptoms eventually subsided, Hailey went to the hospital and tests revealed she had suffered a small blood clot in her brain, which doctors identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack).
Further testing at UCLA discovered Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled to her brain through this hole, causing the TIA.
Hailey successfully underwent a procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the condition affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it was becoming increasingly difficult to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, calling the situation scary but assuring everyone he would be okay and was grateful he was doing better.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. He explained that while in Atlanta, he suffered a severe headache and asked for aspirin. Before he could take it, he lost consciousness and doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, they discovered he’d had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then went to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying he needed every single one.

The reality TV star said she briefly stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC show.
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then experienced a bright light, leading her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the show, she experienced a sudden and severe headache while at the gym. She described collapsing and being violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.
After being taken to the hospital, doctors diagnosed her with a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding around the brain. She had suffered an aneurysm, a rupture in an artery.
Clarke underwent immediate surgery to repair the aneurysm, describing the pain as excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, struggling to communicate and speaking nonsense. Fortunately, the aphasia passed after a week, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month.
However, a 2013 brain scan revealed the growth had doubled in size, requiring a second surgery. This procedure was unsuccessful, leading to a massive bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Clarke is now thankfully fully recovered and says she is at 100%.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, recently shared how much she appreciates her family’s support. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and immediately reached out to her loved ones, sending them a picture and a message. She told TopMob News that everyone quickly came to her aid.
Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. While she could have gone home after the stroke, she was also dealing with lupus and kidney problems.
Fortunately, Cori is now recovering well. She says she’s feeling great and is regaining her motor skills. Overall, she’s doing much better and is thankful for the support she received.

Shailene Woodley struggled with her health throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and digestive issues. Doctors offered various diagnoses, leaving her feeling confused.
Because she grew up with a holistic approach to wellness and studied herbalism, Shailene sought answers from both traditional doctors and alternative healers. This search for comfort and understanding took ten years.
The physical discomfort led to emotional challenges, including fear of food and struggles with body image and identity. She described a difficult period of confusion and feeling unsafe in her own body.
Ultimately, Shailene was able to resolve her health issues and is now feeling very well. She expressed happiness and relief at being healthy again.
