Dolly Parton’s Sister Stella Slams Critics Amid Singer’s Health Issues

Dolly Parton‘s sister Stella Parton is calling for some perspective.

Following recent health concerns about Dolly Parton, 79, her 76-year-old sister shared a message for fans. This came after Freida Parton asked for prayers for her sister.

Stella shared on X (formerly Twitter) on October 8th that her sister, Dolly, recently had kidney stones and is receiving medical care. She explained that their other sister, Freida, was worried about Dolly and asked for prayers for her recovery.

As their sister, I want to love and respect their privacy, just as I hope they would do for me. To those who are constantly asking me for personal updates about them, please check their official social media pages instead. While many fans are genuinely concerned, some of you are crossing the line and don’t seem to care about my feelings or their wellbeing.

Stella finished her message by saying Dolly will share a health update when she feels ready.

She said her sister will share information when she’s ready, and asked people to stop sending questions or being rude in the meantime.

Stella shared her thoughts after her sister, Freida, explained a previous comment regarding Dolly’s health. This followed Dolly’s announcement that she was postponing six shows from her Las Vegas residency because of kidney stones.

In a Facebook post on October 7th, she explained that she didn’t intend to worry anyone when she asked for prayers for Dolly. Dolly hadn’t been feeling well, and she simply requested prayers because she believes in their power.

Nikki Bella, known from *Total Bellas*, shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit in the chest during a wrestling match with Piper Niven in July 2025.

She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finalized her divorce and retired from her current work, she would return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, anticipating future use and wanting it to be presentable.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in *12 Years a Slave*, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.

She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.

She explained that growing up, many girls are taught to expect period pain and accept it as a normal part of womanhood. This often leaves people feeling like they’re dealing with a common, but difficult, experience all by themselves.

Okay, so I recently learned something a little surprising! Riley Keough, you know, the star of *Daisy Jones & The Six*, ended up in the hospital because of a hernia. Apparently, it was caused by wearing pants that were just *too* tight! It’s a common thing – a weak spot in your abdominal or groin muscles – and it’s a good reminder that comfort is key, even with fashion. Who knew skinny jeans could be so risky?

Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter), saying, ‘You haven’t tweeted in a while!’ Suki replied with a surprising explanation: she revealed she’d been afraid to tell them about a hernia she believes was caused by wearing very tight pants six months ago.

The former star of *Beverly Hills, 90210* shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery because his appendix was close to rupturing.

Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained he had a perforated appendix – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to it.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

During a soccer game against the Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle, a midfielder for Racing Louisville collapsed after only a few minutes of play.

According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field with a teammate supporting her, just before she collapsed. Trainers were immediately called to assess her condition.

After receiving initial medical attention on the field, Savannah was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and is alert.

I was so shocked to hear that Adam Devine is *still* dealing with injuries from when he was hit by a cement truck as a kid! Apparently, the effects from that accident when he was eleven have stuck with him all these years. It’s just incredible how something that happened so long ago can continue to impact someone’s health.

In a 2025 interview on the *In Depth With Graham Bensinger* podcast, Devine described the past year as a “nightmare.” He explained that he’s been experiencing spasms all over his body and that doctors initially believed his condition was life-threatening.

He acknowledged that his pain is intermittent, explaining that his body has some minor imperfections and isn’t quite working as it should.

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He said the pain was so bad he had to crawl on his hands and knees, and it got worse during a road trip with a friend.

He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes, saying it was “crazy” even weeks after the initial issue. To give some context, he explained that just a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds. Now, he can’t even do a squat, losing his balance if he tries to stand on one foot. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

I was so shocked to hear that my favorite Housewife, Gina Kirschenheiter’s ex-husband, Matt, had a heart attack back in March of 2025. Thankfully, he pulled through, and I’m so relieved to know he’s okay!

In February 2025, the former *Even Stevens* star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.

In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a gun unsafely. Brendan Rooney quickly helped her, evaluating her injuries and immediately taking her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet narrowly missed her right eye, coming within an inch of a direct hit.

The former *Kim Possible* star shared that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they’re keeping a close watch on the situation. Thankfully, their vision is currently normal.

The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving. She shared how much she loves her daughters, husband, family, and friends, explaining that experiencing a near-death moment made her realize how quickly life can change. She urged everyone to cherish their loved ones and hug them whenever possible.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its downsides, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing online comments about her “puffy” face during interviews, she was surprised to see doctors commenting, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition often linked to high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted her to realize she had been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. Schumer explained she wouldn’t have known about the condition without the online feedback. She recently shared that discovering she had a form of Cushing syndrome that would resolve on its own was wonderful news, and she’s relieved to be healthy.

During a game in December 2024, an AHL player was accidentally cut in the face by another player’s skate and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, and couldn’t speak or move the right side of her face. Although these symptoms eventually passed, she went to the hospital where doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot in her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further testing at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled through this hole and to her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that temporarily paralyzed parts of his face and led him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, causing paralysis on one side. He showed fans he couldn’t blink, smile, or move his nostril on the affected side, and that it was becoming increasingly difficult to eat. Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away.

During an appearance on *Good Morning America*, Hailey shared that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better. She described the situation as scary and unexpected, but expressed her relief that he was going to be okay.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, *What Had Happened Was…*, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, became concerned and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke.

Twenty days after surgery, Jamie woke up on May 4th in a wheelchair, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star said she temporarily stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC show.

She shared on the show *Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser* that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, she remembered only darkness, followed by light, which led her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing and she hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in *Game of Thrones*, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for *The New Yorker*. While filming the show, she experienced a sudden, severe headache while at the gym. She described collapsing and being violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.

After being taken to the hospital, doctors diagnosed her with a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding around the brain. It was discovered she had an aneurysm, a rupture in an artery. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, describing the pain as excruciating.

During her recovery, Emilia experienced aphasia, making it difficult to speak, and found herself unable to form coherent sentences. Thankfully, this passed after a week, and she was discharged from the hospital a month later.

However, a 2013 brain scan revealed the aneurysm had doubled in size, requiring a second surgery. This procedure initially failed, leading to a massive bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.

Despite these terrifying experiences, Emilia Clarke is now thankfully fully recovered and says she is “at a hundred per cent.”

While she could have been discharged after the stroke, other health issues, including lupus and kidney problems, required a longer hospital stay. Cori is now recovering well, stating she’s “doing great” and has been working to regain some motor skills. She’s thankful for her family’s quick response and support during a challenging time.

Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she revealed she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and digestive problems. She described a confusing experience with multiple doctors offering different diagnoses. Determined to find answers, Woodley, who has a background in herbalism, sought help from both traditional doctors and alternative healers. This health journey lasted for ten years, and the physical discomfort led to anxieties about food and ultimately, issues with body image and identity. Thankfully, after focusing on both her physical and mental wellbeing, Shailene is now healthy and feeling much better.
