Dominik Mysterio Was Injured At The AAA Event, And The Latest Update Is Ominous

Dominik Mysterio recently suffered an injury at a wrestling event, and it could sideline him for a while. He was fortunate to avoid a long-term injury earlier this year, but this time the situation seems more serious.

Okay, so I just got the rundown on what happened down in Mexico this weekend. Dirty Dom, teaming with El Grande Americano, had a main event match against Rey Mysterio and Rey Fenix. Unfortunately, it sounds like things didn’t go so well for Dom. WrestlingNews.co reported he was clearly hurting his arm during the match and seemed unable to even lift it afterward. Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio just weighed in, and honestly, the initial reports aren’t promising. We’re waiting for more details, but it looks like Dom might be dealing with a significant injury.

He’s injured and needs to be checked out by a doctor. Usually, they’d have a doctor available through TV, but that won’t be possible until next week. He’s scheduled for an exam sometime this week to figure out what’s wrong with his shoulder. It’s too early to tell how serious the injury is, but shoulder problems are common, and this doesn’t look good. There’s also concern about Penta’s condition, as Seth previously needed surgery. Hopefully, this injury won’t require surgery, which would keep him sidelined for a long time. We just don’t know the extent of the injury yet.

Now is the worst possible time for a WWE wrestler to get hurt. While injuries are never good, being sidelined for months with WrestleMania approaching could mean missing the event next April.

More On The WWE

Chelsea Green recently discussed her experience with the Women’s United States Championship, a year after winning it, and frankly shared her opinion on how the title is currently being used in storylines.

Mysterio currently holds two championships: the WWE Intercontinental Championship, which he won in a recent rematch against John Cena before Cena’s retirement match, and the AAA Mega Championship. Because he holds titles in both WWE and AAA, a lengthy absence would create scheduling challenges for both wrestling organizations.

Dominik Mysterio, son of Rey Mysterio, has made incredible progress in WWE. He’s evolved from simply tagging with his father to becoming one of the top Latino wrestlers in the industry. He’s also overcome initial fan negativity to become a beloved performer, making any injury or setback especially disappointing, particularly with big events like the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania approaching.

We’re still unsure about the extent of Dominik Mysterio’s injury and how long he might be sidelined. Also, don’t expect to find out anything new by watching this week’s Monday Night Raw – the episode was filmed on December 16th in Boston. If you see him wrestling on the show, keep in mind that footage was captured before he was hurt.

We’re hoping he’s recovering well and that we’ll soon hear good news about Dominic being back on TV in 2026. Shoulder injuries can vary a lot in how serious they are, so we’re optimistic that some rest during the holidays will help him get better.
