In a fascinating blend of worlds, the famous Disney character, Donald Duck, is attempting to demonstrate that he’s up to the task of taking on the mantle of Thor. The Marvel Universe is welcoming these beloved Disney characters, thanks to a series of special one-shots titled What If…?. Previously, we’ve seen Uncle Scrooge chase after the Infinity Dime, and Donald Duck as the mutant character Wolverine. Now, it seems he’s aiming for Mjolnir, Thor’s enchanted hammer. Marvel unveiled a sneak peek at “#1 of What If…? Donald Duck Transforms into Thor” by Steve Behling, Riccardo Secchi, Lorenzo Pastrovicchio, Lucio Ruvidotti, and Laura Tartaglia. The story commences with Donald already transformed as Thor, struggling to fly using Mjolnir. Later, we’re transported back in time where Donald Duck, Huey, Duey, and Louie are off to Norway in search of ancient Viking artifacts. The trio aims to win the medal for explorers of ancient Viking relics as Junior Woodchucks, making them the first to accomplish this feat.

Following an unlucky excavation attempt, Donald Duck accidentally shatters his pickaxe and impales his foot instead. Trying to hobble around, a UFO then descends into the soil, its secrets yet to be revealed until the merchandise goes on sale later this week.
