It looks like Donna Kelce was guilty as sin of almost spilling the beans. 

Two days before my beloved Travis Kelce and the enchanting Taylor Swift made their engagement official, it seemed as if the 72-year-old was dropping subtle hints that the Kansas City Chiefs’ star had chosen to spend an eternity with the “Cruel Summer” songstress – leaving this diehard fan utterly thrilled!

Instead, it seemed as though she playfully hinted that Travis’ happiness during the New Heights podcast episode, in which Taylor joined him and his brother Jason Kelce as a guest, might have been partly due to her presence.

Donna shared with People at the August 24 premiere of ESPN’s The Kingdom that he seems to have made up his mind about something. That’s pretty much all she could reveal.

Although the matriarch didn’t reveal any new information, she was open to offering more details about her son’s state of mind during that period.

She remarked that he appears tranquil and seems determined, with a clear sense of purpose about his goals.

Additionally, she expressed her opinions about the groundbreaking podcast episode he had with Taylor, referring to it as “quite an exciting experience.

Donna remarked, “It was genuine, and it seemed like everyone was really excited about it.” She noted, “It was heartwarming.

Furthermore, in a different interview with People on August 24th, Travis’ father, Ed Kelce, also shared this viewpoint, stating emphatically that his son’s joy in the episode was clearly due to Taylor. In his words, “There can be no doubt about it.

Ed went on, commenting that it was delightful to watch them exchange views. It was clear to him that the two individuals were deeply enamored with each other.”

“Ed stated that it was a joy to observe their back-and-forth banter. It seemed evident to him that these two people shared a strong, romantic connection.

On August 26, Taylor (age 35) and Travis shared the happy news of their engagement on their respective social media platforms, marking two years since they began dating.

Next to multiple pictures showing the instant an NFL player proposed using a large diamond ring crafted by Artifex Fine Jewelry’s Kindred Lubeck, they captioned it, “The high school English and PE teachers are tying the knot.

Moreover, it appears that not just Travis’ parents are delighted with the news. Many close friends and family members, such as Taylor’s long-time friend Abigail Anderson, have expressed their congratulations as well.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romantic journey started in the summer of 2023, during her Eras Tour, as it passed through Kansas City, Missouri, where Arrowhead Stadium was one of its stops.

Consequently, I was quite disappointed I couldn’t present one of the custom-made bracelets I had prepared for her as a token of my admiration.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d rephrase that in a friendly, conversational tone: After openly admitting my blunder (which I later labeled as “purely metallic”), Travis bravely took the opportunity and extended an invitation to the Grammy-winning artist to join me at Arrowhead Stadium to watch the Chiefs play.

He mentioned on The Pat McAfee Show that he had presented an idea: “I proposed it, I tossed the ball into her court,” he said. “I suggested to her, ‘You know, I’ve noticed your electrifying performances at Arrowhead, perhaps you could come watch me perform there and see who ignites the stage more.’ So, let’s wait and see what unfolds in the coming days.

During their initial meeting, Travis was sporting a mustache that he had grown since August, during the training camp.

According to a reliable source familiar with the matter, by early September, Travis and Taylor had been exchanging occasional messages and conversations.

It is worth noting that one indication suggesting Travis might be “The 1” is Taylor developing a connection with Brittany Mahomes – the spouse of Travis’ close friend and fellow football player Patrick Mahomes – both on and off the football field during games.

On October 14, the romantic journey of the couple unfolded on television as they unexpectedly graced the stage during an episode of Saturday Night Live. Moreover, their New York City adventure extended to attending the after-party for the NBC comedy series and enjoying a date night at the Waverly Inn.

During his team’s off week, Travis took a trip to Argentina to witness Taylor’s South American leg concert tour. Not only did the NFL player form a connection with Scott Swift, Taylor’s father, at the November 11th show in Buenos Aires, but he also received a unique recognition on stage.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, the artist from the Midnights concert could be spotted rushing toward Travis in the backstage area and warmly embracing him with an enthusiastic kiss.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

During the NFL’s off-season, the duo had a delightful snow trip in Montana, accompanied by renowned sports broadcaster Erin Andrews.

In July 2025, Travis shared the initial photos of him and Taylor on Instagram, among which was a charming snapshot of them during dinner – hinting at their screensavers of each other on their phones subtly.
