Great news! Filming has finished on season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, and a third season is already confirmed, having been approved several months ago. Production is expected to begin next year. There’s a lot to be excited about, as the story is building towards a major conflict involving several groups and heroes. Plus, we can look forward to seeing beloved characters return, including Karen Page, Frank Castle, and even Jessica Jones-who hasn’t appeared on screen since 2017.
In a post on Instagram, co-creator and showrunner Dario Scardapone expressed gratitude to everyone who helped make the show something special. However, executive producer Jesse Wigutow went into more detail about season 2 and the enhanced Wilson Fisk. Fisk now has an Anti-Vigilante Task Force to use against Daredevil. Wigutow stated, “There is clarity of vision. The showrunner has been awesome and really has a point of view that we’ve executed on. Nothing’s perfect, but I do think Season 2 is quite good, and I think it’s going to be very satisfying.”
We’re Now Expecting The Fight We’ve Been Waiting Years For

I can’t share many details right now, but we’re telling a very large-scale story, a major one set in New York City, involving crime and politics. We have Mayor Fisk and all the complex power dynamics surrounding him within City Hall, and I think it’s all fantastic. As we’re finishing up edits and starting Season 3, what stands out to me most is that we created this expansive narrative, and then, in the finale, we focused on what truly matters. Ultimately, people are invested in these two characters, their intense conflict, their mutual hatred, and their surprising need for each other. We stripped away everything else we’d built up, leaving just them, confronting each other in what I believe is a very satisfying climax,” Wigutow told Collider when discussing the direction of Season 2.
As the anticipated confrontation between Matt Murdock and Fisk draws near – something fans have waited years to see – there’s optimism that season 2 will avoid the pitfalls of season 1, specifically the sense that old ideas were simply reworked for the revival. Wigutow explained, “I’m carefully reviewing edits and asking, ‘How can we make things better?’ I believe this season has a more focused and unified creative direction than season 1. Season 1 wasn’t a mess, but it felt pieced together. We created a completely new pilot and finale, and that’s what you’re getting at – the clarity of those bookends, which I think worked well, and I believe Season 2 also has. There’s a clear vision. The showrunner has been fantastic and has a strong point of view that we’ve successfully brought to life. Nothing is flawless, but I genuinely think Season 2 is strong, and I believe it will be very rewarding for viewers.” He seems confident that the new season will deliver a more cohesive and satisfying experience.
