Dragon Ball Artist Toyotaro Returns for 'Heroes' Finale With Special Artwork

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the Dragon Ball universe, I can confidently say that the upcoming farewell of Dragon Ball Heroes feels like the bittersweet ending to a beloved childhood friend. Having grown up with this spin-off series and witnessing its evolution under Toyotaro’s skilled hand, it’s hard not to feel a pang of nostalgia as we bid adieu to this unique take on the Dragon Ball saga.

Originally debuted as a “Trading Card Arcade Game” back in 2010, Dragon Ball Heroes has been an exciting spin-off series that combines characters from the original shonen franchise’s past and brings them together in unexpected ways for a thrilling narrative. As the video game continues to generate new storylines, both the manga and anime adaptations have also offered incredible adventures for the Z-Fighters and Time Patrol. To bid farewell to this series, renowned artist Toyotaro from Dragon Ball Super recently shared a special artwork as a tribute to this side story. Given Toyotaro’s deep passion for the shonen franchise and his role in the production of Heroes, it seems like their collaboration on its conclusion is a perfect fit.

In terms of how Toyotaro kicked off his career in manga, it all began when he made a fan-made “Dragon Ball AF” manga. This caught attention, leading to him being given the opportunity to author and illustrate “Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission”. Since 2012, this manga tie-in with the arcade game has allowed Toyotaro to work on “Dragon Ball Super”, a position he’s held ever since. Following the sad demise of “Dragon Ball” creator Akira Toriyama, Toyotaro has declared his intention to write new chapters for the manga and take on a significant role in the franchise going forward.

A Farewell Worthy of Heroes

Fortunately, the world of “Heroes” will expand with a fresh arcade game named “Dragon Ball Super Divers”. As of now, whether this spin-off will get its own manga and anime adaptation is yet unknown, but given the franchise’s widespread popularity, it’s certainly plausible. At present, there’s no announced release date for “Divers”, but it’s certain to create a significant impact in Japanese arcades when it arrives.

As a dedicated Dragon Ball fan, here I am, diving into the next thrilling installment: “Onward to the Next Hero” – Chapter 30 of Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission Final Chapter, masterfully illustrated by Toyotarou. Keep an eye out for the remaining chapters on Mangadex as they’ll be added soon! A big thanks to @brechinsky and @JaredHendrix6 for this exciting update! 😊

In October, I’m super excited to join the ranks of fans as the Z-Fighters make their comeback in a brand new anime series titled “Dragon Ball Daima“. Set amidst the gap between the conclusion of “Dragon Ball Z” and the commencement of “Dragon Ball Super“, this TV show will mark one of the final projects from the legendary Akira Toriyama. The intriguing twist of shrinking Goku and his team into miniature versions of themselves in Daima promises some mind-blowing twists for our beloved anime heroes!

Curious about the future of Dragon Ball, both in the primary series and its side projects? Keep tabs on Team Anime at ComicBook to stay informed about the exploits of the Z-Fighters.
