It’s April Fool’s Day, and even the entertainment industry gets in on the fun with pranks and fake news. Anime is no different, often using the day to joke around with its popular series. Recently, the Dragon Ball franchise revealed a piece of merchandise that fans immediately wanted, but it’s likely just a prank and won’t actually be made, disappointing fans everywhere.
The official Dragon Ball social media account recently revealed a design for a “Scouter ProMax,” a real-life version of the iconic anime device. The mock-up advertised features like measuring an opponent’s strength, boosting performance after a tough negotiation, and increasing speed under a full moon. However, it’s just an April Fool’s Day joke! Dragon Ball has a history of announcing cool merchandise that isn’t actually made – last year they teased a “Dragon Radar” phone. You can see the prank image below.

Dragon Ball’s Big Year

This year has been full of exciting news for fans of Dragon Ball. The anime will return later this year with a refreshed version of the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, now titled Dragon Ball Super: Beerus. This new series will retell the story of the God of Destruction’s arrival, using a more modern animation style from Toei Animation. But that’s not all – there’s plenty more in store for Goku and the Z Fighters in the future!
I’ve been following the news, and while we don’t have a release date yet for the next part of the Dragon Ball Super anime, it’s confirmed they’re working on adapting the ‘Galactic Patrol’ saga. This storyline introduces Moro, a really powerful, ancient wizard who can steal energy from anything – even entire planets! From what I understand, this arc is going to be a long one, and those who haven’t read the manga are in for some major surprises. It sounds like it’s going to be visually stunning, and a truly epic story.
There’s no official news yet about when new Dragon Ball manga chapters will appear in Weekly Shonen Jump. However, Toyotaro, the artist behind Dragon Ball Super, has suggested that the manga will return. Unfortunately, fans still don’t know exactly when new chapters of Dragon Ball Super will be released.
