Dragon Ball Has Disappointing News For Fans in October

Fans won’t be seeing anything new from the *Dragon Ball* franchise at New York Comic Con in 2025. Following the conclusion of *Dragon Ball Daima*, Toei Animation hasn’t announced any new anime series or movies. Even *Dragon Ball Super* is on hold. While *Super* briefly returned with a new chapter in February 2025 after the passing of creator Akira Toriyama in March 2024, it hasn’t continued regularly, with Toyotarou now leading the manga. Because there are currently no active *Dragon Ball* anime or manga projects, the franchise won’t be present at the convention, which runs from October 9th to 12th.

This popular convention is a huge celebration of Western comics, graphic novels, video games, anime, manga, and related entertainment. Since it began in 2006, it has attracted hundreds of thousands of attendees every year. Fans often anticipate new information about the *Daima* franchise at this event, especially after its initial announcement at NYCC 2023. Last year featured a *Dragon Ball* panel with updates on games and the new anime, but this year, the franchise has no presence, meaning fans won’t receive any news for the time being.

The Next Major Dragon Ball Event Is Still Several Months Away

While many anime and manga conventions happen every year, New York Comic Con (NYCC) is one of the most popular worldwide. After NYCC, fans often eagerly await Jump Festa 2026, an annual event hosted by Shueisha that reveals news about various series from *Shonen Jump*. However, with *Dragon Ball* not appearing at Jump Festa 2026, the next big event for fans will be *Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026*, scheduled for April 18–19, 2026.

This Dragon Ball event started in 2021, making it relatively new, but it’s already become the largest gathering for fans worldwide. It features everything related to the franchise – from the original manga and anime to movies, video games, collectibles, and toys. While we have a few months to wait, the official website promises exciting content showcasing the latest developments in the Dragon Ball universe.

Get ready for news about several video games, including *Sparking! ZERO* and various card games like *Super Card Game Masters*. This event will be entirely focused on gaming, and there’s currently no word about any anime announcements. *Dragon Ball* has a long history of releasing over a hundred popular games worldwide. With no major *Dragon Ball* events planned for this year, fans on X are already anticipating *Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026*, even though it’s still a ways off.
