Dragon Ball Super Preview Shares New Look at Its Big Comeback

After a lengthy break, the popular anime series Dragon Ball Super is set to resume, with a sneak peek into its upcoming storyline being revealed. The hiatus of this Dragon Ball spin-off occurred after the sad demise of its creator Akira Toriyama last spring. However, the conclusion of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero story in the manga provides an optimistic outlook for the future, and it seemed like the series might not return without Toriyama’s active participation. To everyone’s delight, this isn’t the case as the series is making a comeback instead!

🤩 Exciting news, folks! I’m thrilled to announce that after a long break, my beloved series Dragon Ball Super is back with a fresh storyline all about Goten and Trunks! This one-shot, exclusive to Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine in Japan, delves deeper into the duo’s heroic journey during the expanded Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero arc. The comeback is just around the corner, less than two weeks from now as of this publication! To build anticipation, Shueisha has graciously released some initial sketches from the manga’s return. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates, as spotted by @DbsHype on X. 🌟

When Is Dragon Ball Super Coming Back?

The manga version of “Dragon Ball Super” will come back with a fresh, one-off story on February 20th, exclusively in Japan. Later, readers outside of Japan can access it via Shueisha’s MangaPlus service and Viz Media’s digital Shonen Jump library. At the moment, it’s unclear if this will mark the continuation of the series, but this development is intriguing. Notably, the draft pages for this one-shot are titled “Chapter 104,” which would be a significant chapter in the storyline that fans have been eagerly anticipating.

If labeled as “Chapter 104,” the upcoming story suggests a continuation of the series instead of an additional or special chapter like 103.5. This could mark a new stage in the story, potentially allowing artist Toyotaro to continue Dragon Ball Super without Akira Toriyama’s immediate input. However, it’s a significant challenge as some fans may not approve and others are eager to resolve the Black Frieza cliffhanger that remains unresolved.
