Despite the lack of news about a new anime or when the manga will return, the popularity of Dragon Ball shows no signs of fading. As fans eagerly await more from Goku and the Z Fighters, Shueisha is opening the very first official Dragon Ball store in Japan. While Dragon Ball merchandise is already widely available, this store promises an even more extensive and dedicated celebration of the series.
A new Dragon Ball store is opening in Tokyo Station, Japan, joining other popular anime shops already located there, like those for One Piece, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider. The store will officially open on November 14th and promises fans a unique experience with exclusive merchandise you won’t find anywhere else, all within a Dragon Ball-themed environment. According to the franchise, it’s the first Dragon Ball store of its kind.

Dragon Ball’s Potential Return
Although the store is getting ready to open, the same can’t be said for the Dragon Ball franchise as a whole. Anime fans were surprised earlier this year to learn that Dragon Ball wouldn’t be at Jump Festa. However, there’s good news: the creators have a major event planned for January to reveal what’s next for the series. Called the “Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri” 40th anniversary event, it will share exciting plans for both the anime and video games.
The most recent animated appearance of the Z-Fighters was in Dragon Ball Daima, a series set after Dragon Ball Z but before Dragon Ball Super. While fans enjoyed this new story, it included some unexpected twists. Notably, Goku transformed into Super Saiyan 4, officially making this form from Dragon Ball GT part of the main storyline, and Vegeta achieved Super Saiyan 3.
As a huge anime fan, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a dedicated anime store here in North America! Right now, there aren’t any official plans for one, but with anime becoming so popular, I really think it could happen. We’re already seeing more and more cool anime stuff make its way over from Japan, and honestly, I’d love to walk into a “Dragon Ball” store right here in the States someday!
