Square Enix started the recent State of Play presentation with a new trailer for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, a remake of the beloved role-playing game. The trailer showed off the game’s characters and confirmed the inclusion of Kiefer – a different Kiefer than you might be thinking of! – who will happily help you battle the Demon King after you rescue him.
The game features updated graphics that create a beautiful, miniature world effect. While the developers are staying true to the original game, they’re adding a brand new ending that will reflect the decisions you make while playing – a great reason to play through it again!
Get ready for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, coming to Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and PS5 on February 5th, 2026. In the meantime, you can enjoy our review of Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake, a beautiful update of the original two games in the series with stunning HD-2D graphics.
