The remake of the classic RPG, Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined, comes out in just one month! You’ll be able to play it on February 5, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S (and on other Xbox devices with Xbox Play Anywhere), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam.
Square Enix is giving fans a taste of the upcoming Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined with a free demo, launching on January 7, 2026.
This demo lets players try the beginning of Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined and see how it updates the classic 2001 PlayStation game. The remake features improved graphics, smoother combat, and fully voiced characters.
Once you finish the demo, your progress will transfer to the full game, and you’ll receive a special “Day Off” outfit for Maribel in the complete version.
I didn’t play the first Dragon Quest VII on PlayStation, but I really enjoyed the Nintendo 3DS version. I especially loved its fun story, huge world filled with hidden things, quirky and challenging monsters, and the detailed way you could customize your characters’ jobs.
I’m really excited for Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined to come out on February 5, 2026! As a long-time fan, I’m curious to see how it improves on the 3DS version while still feeling like the classic game we all love. I’m hoping it strikes a good balance between staying true to its roots and offering something fresh and new.
