Despite Drew Barrymore’s daughters not yet being licensed drivers, one of them was involved in a car accident on the road not too long ago.

It was truly a heart-pounding moment for me when I learned about the planned meeting of the Never Been Kissed star and Stephen Colbert’s wife, Evelyn Colbert. But alas, fate had other plans! It turns out that one of their lovely daughters, Olive or Frankie, had an unexpected run-in with an electric bicycle, causing quite a hiccup in the arrangements. Here’s hoping for a successful future encounter soon!

During her interview on Late Night with Stephen Colbert on September 4th, Drew mentioned that unfortunately, their planned meeting had to be canceled as her daughter suffered an accident. However, she quickly added that fortunately, her daughter is okay now.

She assured me, “Things are good,” but later added a bit more detail, “My daughter unfortunately had an electric bike mishap in France – yes, we were in France of all places. Unfortunately, while we were enjoying this fabulous destination, she had an accident with an e-bike.

Despite experiencing a near-scary incident, the host of the Drew Barrymore Show attributed her daughter’s quick actions for averting the crisis following the accident.

As a devoted follower, I’d rephrase that statement as follows: “I was quite some distance into the mountains when I suffered a deep gash on my elbow. We endured multiple visits to the emergency room over several days,” I shared of the experience. “In a desperate attempt to control the bleeding, I removed my bra and fashioned it into a makeshift tourniquet.

Drew, however, is taking no credit for her daughter’s emergency skills.

“That’s just who she is,” she said. “And I just marvel at her.”

Stephen remarked, “Drew certainly seems to have accomplished something remarkable,” as he praised him for having such intelligent daughters. However, the E.T. alum expressed that she could only aspire to be as ‘cool’ as him.

Drew deeply cherishes the role of bringing up her daughters correctly, since she once confessed that the 2016 divorce which took place while they were still young, led to a significant amount of regret in her life.

She shared during her talk show in March that everything was extremely difficult for her, and it took a considerable amount of time to heal. She had vowed to establish a non-traditional family dynamic for hers, but had never experienced this kind of family structure growing up.

And she’s previously used Stephen’s show to marvel at how her daughters have turned out so far. 

“They’re really, really good,” she said in January. “They’re my North Star, my compass.”

He explained on Instagram that the virus attacked nerves in his ear and face, causing full paralysis on one side, as he could not blink one eye, smile symmetrically, or move the nostril on the affected side. “When I regained consciousness, I was writhing in pain,” she wrote. “The previous surgery had failed, and I was informed that my survival chances were uncertain if they did not operate again. This time, they needed to access my brain through the traditional method-by drilling into my skull.”

Fortunately, Emilia is now “completely healed.

Cori Broadus, the daughter of rapper Snoop Dogg, expresses her gratitude towards her family. This is because when she experienced a “severe stroke” in January 2024, they were quick to be by her side.
