Despite Drew Barrymore’s daughters not yet being licensed drivers, one of them was involved in a car accident on the road not too long ago.
It was truly a heart-pounding moment for me when I learned about the planned meeting of the Never Been Kissed star and Stephen Colbert’s wife, Evelyn Colbert. But alas, fate had other plans! It turns out that one of their lovely daughters, Olive or Frankie, had an unexpected run-in with an electric bicycle, causing quite a hiccup in the arrangements. Here’s hoping for a successful future encounter soon!
During her interview on Late Night with Stephen Colbert on September 4th, Drew mentioned that unfortunately, their planned meeting had to be canceled as her daughter suffered an accident. However, she quickly added that fortunately, her daughter is okay now.
She assured me, “Things are good,” but later added a bit more detail, “My daughter unfortunately had an electric bike mishap in France – yes, we were in France of all places. Unfortunately, while we were enjoying this fabulous destination, she had an accident with an e-bike.
Despite experiencing a near-scary incident, the host of the Drew Barrymore Show attributed her daughter’s quick actions for averting the crisis following the accident.
As a devoted follower, I’d rephrase that statement as follows: “I was quite some distance into the mountains when I suffered a deep gash on my elbow. We endured multiple visits to the emergency room over several days,” I shared of the experience. “In a desperate attempt to control the bleeding, I removed my bra and fashioned it into a makeshift tourniquet.
Drew, however, is taking no credit for her daughter’s emergency skills.
“That’s just who she is,” she said. “And I just marvel at her.”
Stephen remarked, “Drew certainly seems to have accomplished something remarkable,” as he praised him for having such intelligent daughters. However, the E.T. alum expressed that she could only aspire to be as ‘cool’ as him.
Drew deeply cherishes the role of bringing up her daughters correctly, since she once confessed that the 2016 divorce which took place while they were still young, led to a significant amount of regret in her life.
She shared during her talk show in March that everything was extremely difficult for her, and it took a considerable amount of time to heal. She had vowed to establish a non-traditional family dynamic for hers, but had never experienced this kind of family structure growing up.
And she’s previously used Stephen’s show to marvel at how her daughters have turned out so far.
“They’re really, really good,” she said in January. “They’re my North Star, my compass.”

She posted on Instagram that another group was with us, but they carelessly discharged their firearms in the incorrect direction, striking me in the face. Almost instantaneously, @thebrendanrooney took action, evaluated my condition, and quickly transported me to the hospital. In total, I was injured in five locations; one wound came startlingly close to impacting my right eye directly.
The former star of “Kim Possible” added, “Regrettably, a piece became stuck near my eye, and it’s not safe to extract it surgically right now. My doctors will keep a close watch on me (for now, I can see clearly).
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude for being alive, stating, “My affection for my daughters, husband, family, and friends runs deep.” She recounted a moment where she felt her life pass before her, urging everyone to seize opportunities to embrace those close to them. She emphasized that life can unexpectedly transform in the blink of an eye.
Amy Schumer is grateful that despite the internet often not being a friendly place, this time it provided her with much-needed answers. In an episode of Call Her Daddy in January 2025, she talked about her swollen face following numerous media appearances and said, “Everyone calm down,” but then medical professionals joined the conversation in the comments, expressing concern about her unusual appearance. They suspected Cushing syndrome, a condition that could be caused by surging cortisol levels or steroid injections.
Recalling her history of receiving steroid injections after procedures like breast reduction and C-section, Amy thought, “Wait, I’ve been getting these steroid injections that might have led to Cushing syndrome.” She was being diagnosed by online trolls!
After learning from doctors about the specific type of Cushing syndrome she had, which would resolve on its own, Amy found out she was healthy. Expressing her relief in a News Not Noise newsletter in February 2024, she said, “Discovering that I have a type of Cushing that will naturally heal itself and knowing I’m well is the best news ever.
In the realm of sports, as a lifestyle expert, I find myself reminiscing about an incident that occurred during a game in December 2024. As a player in the AHL, I found myself on the receiving end of an unfortunate mishap when another player’s skate left me with a deep gash. The medical team swiftly attended to me, and I was fortunate enough to receive 25 stitches to close the wound.
Following my full recovery, I felt a wave of relief and gratitude as I shared this experience with my father, Tom Fitzgerald, who, as the general manager of the New Jersey Devils, has been my constant pillar of support. In his words to ESPN, he expressed our collective feelings by saying, “We’re incredibly fortunate. I wouldn’t wish an incident like that upon any parent.” His sentiments echoed the sheer relief and gratitude we both felt in those moments.
Hailey Bieber lived through one of the most frightening experiences of her life in March 2022 while having breakfast with husband Justin Bieber. During this incident, Hailey experienced symptoms similar to a stroke, including difficulty speaking and facial drooping. She shared her experience a month later on YouTube, stating that she couldn’t respond or speak properly when Justin asked if she was okay, and when she tried to respond, her speech was affected.
The facial drooping stopped, but Hailey decided to visit the hospital for a check-up. There, doctors detected a small blood clot in her brain, which they classified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further examination at UCLA revealed that Hailey had a heart condition known as patent foramen ovale (PFO), where a hole exists between the two chambers of her heart.
The blood clot had traveled into her heart, escaped through the PFO, and reached her brain, causing the TIA. After undergoing a successful PFO closure procedure, Hailey is now feeling well.
In the same year Hailey encountered a health issue, Justin Bieber also faced a medical problem. Specifically, in June 2022, the pop sensation disclosed his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which resulted in temporary facial paralysis and required him to postpone the rest of his Justice World Tour. He explained on Instagram that the virus attacked nerves in his ear and face, causing full paralysis on one side, as he could not blink one eye, smile symmetrically, or move the nostril on the affected side. He further mentioned it became increasingly difficult for him to eat, but eventually, the paralysis subsided. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin is doing well and recovering; she added that despite the sudden and alarming nature of the incident, he will fully recover and they are both grateful for his health.
Initially, Jamie Foxx chose not to disclose the details of his April 2023 hospitalization. However, in a Netflix special titled What Had Happened Was… released in 2024, he shared his experience. On a day in Atlanta, he experienced an intense headache and requested an aspirin from a friend. Before he could get it, he fainted and lost consciousness for approximately 20 days.
Upon visiting a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, Jamie’s sister, Deidra Dixon, became concerned and took him to a hospital. There, they discovered that Jamie had suffered a brain hemorrhage leading to a stroke.
Twenty days following surgery on April 20th, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. Reflecting on his recovery, he expressed gratitude for every prayer, as he felt they were crucial to his healing process.
The reality TV personality disclosed that she momentarily fainted or lost consciousness during a mile run, which was the initial task of the NBC competition show.
During an interview on Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser, she shared that her memory isn’t clear about many details. However, she recalls hearing a helicopter, feeling as if she was floating, seeing her grandfather, and then experiencing darkness. But afterwards, there was light, which led her to believe that she had passed away on that day.
She went on explaining, ‘It felt like my vital systems were failing,’ she said, unaware that she was experiencing rhabdomyolysis. This condition essentially signals a body’s impending failure.
Emilia Clarke bravely filmed intense battle scenes for the popular series “Game of Thrones,” but in 2019, she penned a deeply personal essay titled “A Battle for My Life” that was published in “The New Yorker.” The actress described an unexpected health crisis at the gym: “I found myself in the restroom, knees on the floor, vomiting severely. Simultaneously, my headache-sharp, pulsating, and constricting-was worsening. I suspected that something was wrong with my brain.”
She was rushed to the hospital for a scan, where she received a startling diagnosis: “The medical team swiftly confirmed a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a severe type of stroke resulting from brain bleeding.” Emilia had experienced an aneurysm, a rupture in one of her arteries.
She underwent immediate surgery to repair the aneurysm, describing the pain as “agonizing.” During recovery, she struggled with aphasia, uttering nonsensical words.
A week later, the aphasia subsided, and Emilia left the hospital after a month’s stay. However, a subsequent 2013 brain scan revealed that a growth had doubled in size, necessitating another operation.
“When I regained consciousness, I was writhing in pain,” she wrote. “The previous surgery had failed, and I was informed that my survival chances were uncertain if they did not operate again. This time, they needed to access my brain through the traditional method-by drilling into my skull.”
Fortunately, Emilia is now “completely healed.
Cori Broadus, the daughter of rapper Snoop Dogg, expresses her gratitude towards her family. This is because when she experienced a “severe stroke” in January 2024, they were quick to be by her side. She shared the news with journalist Will Marfuggi from TopMob News in December 2024, stating that everyone came to her aid.
Due to additional health issues, Cori’s hospital stay was longer than anticipated. She mentioned, “I could have gone home after my stroke, but my lupus wasn’t doing well. My kidneys were failing. It was a lot happening at once.”
Currently, she is making a recovery. She said, “I’m doing great. I just had to work on some motor skills, but other than that, I was fine.
During her twenties, Shailene Woodley experienced significant health struggles. She detailed her struggles on the SHE MD Podcast in September 2024, explaining that her hearing was deteriorating, she could barely walk for more than a few minutes without needing to rest for extended periods, and nearly everything she ate upset her stomach. Her condition was complex and involved multiple issues and diagnoses from various doctors.
To find answers, Shailene-who has a holistic background and studies herbalism-decided to consult both traditional medical professionals and independent healers. This journey spanned over ten years, during which she also grappled with physical discomfort leading to fear of food, body dysmorphia, confusion about identity, and feelings of insecurity within herself.
After focusing on improving both her physical and mental health, Shailene is now feeling much better and shares that her condition ultimately resolved itself, leaving her in good health today.
