Jason Momoa shared that his son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, was about to experience a surprising change when he responded to the news of joining the cast for “Dune 3”. In June 2025, several media outlets announced that Nakoa-Wolf and Ida Brooke had been chosen to portray Leto II and Ghanima Atreides in “Dune: Part Three”, respectively. This role marks the 16-year-old’s debut as an actor within the film industry.
Jason Momoa reflects on doing Dune: Part Three with son Nakoa-Wolf
In a recent chat with Extra, Jason Momoa clarified that he wasn’t part of the casting process for Nakoa-Wolf as Leto II Atreides, the child of Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and Zendaya’s Chani, in Dune: Part Three.
Momoa indicated that Nakoa-Wolf is in for a reality check because this is his first experience in the workforce. It’s going to be beneficial for him since he did everything independently without any help from me.
Actor Jason Momoa, who plays Aquaman, highlighted the similarities between his initial career stages and those of his son, Nakoa-Wolf. Remarkably, he pointed out that at the same age, Nakoo-Wolf is already collaborating with acclaimed director Denis Villeneuve.
Momoa emphasized, “I truly think he’s surpassing me, and that’s something I genuinely believe.” Moreover, he mentioned, “At his age, I couldn’t pull off what he’s managing. Frankly, I don’t think I could maintain my ground in a conversation with Denis Villeneuve at his age. He’s 16 and already handling himself admirably in discussions with Villeneuve.
Momoa conducted an interview during the premiere event of his upcoming Apple TV+ series, Chief of War, set to air on August 1, 2025. His family, which includes Nakoa-Wolf, attended the event alongside him.
In a recent statement, Momoa mentioned that he and his ex-wife, Lisa Bonet, instilled confidence in their children. He explained, “We brought up our kids… It’s simply about feeling loved and being self-assured… That’s who he is. He’s extremely self-assured.
