For Dungeons & Dragons, Summer and Fall of 2026 will be the “Season of Magic,” bringing new adventures and gameplay options for the updated 5.5 Edition rules. This potent mage resides in Sigil, a magical city connecting different worlds—often called the “City of Doors.” This location, brimming with magic, perfectly complements the season’s themes. Players embarking on the Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall adventure might need to seek Alustriel’s assistance to overcome the Red Wizards who are causing chaos on the Material Plane.

As a big fan, I’m really excited by the artwork for Deadfall! It seems like Szass Tam, the incredibly powerful lich and ruler of the Red Wizards of Thay, might be coming back. He’s seriously notorious – they even included him in the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves movie! Honestly, he’d be the perfect final boss for a campaign centered around the Red Wizards. I’m guessing his schemes are probably what kick off everything that happens in the game.

This suggests that Red Wizards opposing Szass Tam might be trying to summon powerful, evil entities to defeat his strong magic.

Minotaurs are often found serving Baphomet, a powerful demon prince who embodies evil and chaos. While Baphomet’s strength could be a strong defense against magic users, summoning demons is always risky. The adventure Out of the Abyss (published in 2015) showcases Baphomet’s influence, detailing how he led a demonic invasion of the Underdark alongside other formidable beings like Demogorgon.
