Story
Can the past rewrite the future?
During the tumultuous Meiji era, a string of murders caused distress in Kyoto. Perplexing designs traced in victims’ blood remained unsolved, leaving a lasting mystery in history. Fast forward to modern-day Kyoto, Detective Daiki Katsuki faced a grisly murder case strikingly similar to the one from the Meiji era. The breakthrough in the investigation came with an immersive augmented reality experience called ‘Echoes of Kyoto,’ developed by prodigious engineer Quin Rio. They ventured into a digital recreation of Kyoto from a century ago to unravel the mystery.
Experience ‘Echoes of Kyoto’ via advanced AR contact lenses, immersing users in a stunning virtual replica of Kyoto from a century past. This historical reenactment stirs nostalgia among many, but as the real events behind this era come to light, ‘Echoes of Kyoto’ transforms into more than just history. The line between simulation and reality becomes indistinguishable, prompting a question…
Is this the work of a copycat killer? Or is the past truly invading the future?
A future held hostage by the past. A past bound to the future.
When past and future intersect, the world begins to tremble.
