DWTS Peta Murgatroyd Weighs in on Scoring Debate

Peta Murgatroyd isn’t dancing around her feelings about this topic.

As a longtime viewer of Dancing With the Stars, I’ve been seeing a lot of discussion about the judging this season, and some people are even saying it feels unfair. Well, Peta Murgatroyd and her husband, Maks Chmerkovskiy – both pros themselves – recently shared what they think about all the scoring controversy.

Peta believes the current season is seeing a lot of strong reactions from viewers, likely because the audience is younger than in the past. They have clear expectations for the judges’ scores and quickly become upset when one judge’s scoring differs significantly from the others, as she told TopMob News at a recent charity event.

Although Peta doesn’t want fans to get too angry with the judges, she acknowledged that the controversy actually generates buzz and keeps people discussing the show.

Maks, on the other hand, was much more talkative with his opinions. He playfully remarked, “I’ve never tried to talk so softly!”

The 45-year-old, who has three children – 8-year-old Shai, 2-year-old Rio, and 15-month-old Milan – with his wife, was eager to highlight how important the gala is. The event raises money to support cancer patients and research.

Maks excitedly predicted a wonderful evening, explaining they would be celebrating many individuals and collecting significant funds for a crucial cause.

In addition to working together for charitable causes, Maks also highlighted how the collaboration was bringing attention to dance.

He emphasized the importance of this for dancers, noting that the art form has persevered throughout his life and remains popular. He’s encouraged by the current revival of dance, with growing participation and audiences, and believes it’s here to stay.
