Sasha Farber is cheering on his fellow dancers from the sidelines.
Following his omission from the lineup of “Dancing With the Stars” season 34, announced on September 3, the professional dancer eased fans’ concerns by clarifying that he holds no ill feelings towards the ABC competition show. Instead, he showed great excitement for this season, which boasts celebrity participants such as Dylan Efron, Hilaria Baldwin, and Jordan Chiles.
Sasha expressed her enthusiasm about the upcoming cast and stars in a statement to TopMob News on September 3, stating that the new season is set to be extraordinary, and she’s incredibly thankful for the fans’ support and affection.
In response to viewer queries, the 41-year-old addressed their concerns in one of his TikTok posts. A user even pointed out that the 2025 season might feel different without him.
Sasha responded on September 1st with, “I truly appreciate it a lot! This upcoming season is shaping up to be fantastic.
Although Sasha won’t dance in the ballroom this fall, it’s not his first time missing a season of the show. He initially competed in 2013 alongside Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and returned as a professional dancer in 2016 with Kim Fields.
In 2017, during the show’s 25th season, Sasha took a break. The next year, she returned to the competition, partnered with Tonya Harding.
Lately, I’ve been utterly captivated by the dance moves of Sasha, my beloved star who danced with The Bachelorette‘s Jenn Tran during season 33 on DWTS. During that time, sparks flew between us, and a romantic connection was born. Unfortunately, our blossoming relationship came to an end in June, just nine short months after it began.
Currently, Jenn is fully focused on her studies in Miami, with no distractions hindering her aspirations, as reported by our sources to TopMob News. Moreover, she values her independence and does not require a romantic partner to draw media attention.
The thirty-fourth season of Dancing With the Stars debuts on September 16 on ABC. While you wait for that, delve deeper into the careers of other professional dancers who have left the show in the past.
Sasha Farber, who initially started as a professional dancer in 2013 with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi following his role as a troupe member, recently participated in season 33 of Dancing With the Stars alongside The Bachelorette’s Jenn Tran. There was a lot of speculation among fans that they were more than just dance partners due to their chemistry and frequent social media interactions.
Prior to this, Sasha had been married to fellow pro Emma Slater, proposing on the ballroom competition series in 2016. Unfortunately, they ended their four-year marriage in 2022.
Despite the split, Sasha and Emma continue to maintain a friendly relationship. Emma is currently dating another professional dancer, Alan Bersten.
When asked about their current relationship status by TopMob in 2023, Sasha responded, “We’re very professional. We are great friends. In situations like these, you say, ‘Thank you for the wonderful memories,’ and you must move on.”
Following her initial role as a troupe member, Peta Murgatroyd was formally inducted into the DWTS professional ranks when she danced with basketball player Metta World Peace in 2013. Since then, she’s garnered two Mirrorball trophies but has occasionally taken breaks to prioritize her family – her children Shai, Rio, and Milan, whom she shares with fellow former pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Peta expressed her longing for the show in an interview with Us Weekly in June, stating that she misses it when she sees it on TV. However, during her last season (season 32) with Barry Williams from The Brady Bunch, she felt no such longing due to her postpartum state. Despite not participating as a pro this season, Peta has expressed her eagerness to return for season 34 if given the opportunity. Additionally, she shared her excitement for the new DWTS cast on Instagram.
Sharna Burgess last graced the stage of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ during season 30, where she danced with Brian Austin Green. Since then, this professional dancer and the actor from ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ have expanded their bond, becoming parents to son Zane in 2022 and getting engaged a year later. Yet, Sharna has shown interest in returning to ‘Dancing With the Stars’.
She told Parade magazine in May that she truly enjoys her role as a judge on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Australia and would love to participate more if given the opportunity. She expressed her strong affection for the show, saying it’s like being part of a family to her. Whether she’s judging, dancing, or simply cheering from the audience, she’ll always be involved with the show.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I must share some exciting news – though my sister Rylee Arnold will be gracing the stage of “Dancing With the Stars” this season, I myself won’t be stepping into my dancing shoes for the upcoming season. I announced this decision in a TikTok video on August 29th.
The reason behind this choice is simple – it’s about finding the right balance between my professional life and my family, which consists of my husband Sam Cusick and our daughters Sage and June. I am content with where I am currently, feeling that this is exactly where I need to be and should be.
However, should the desire to return ever arise within me, it would be entirely up to me to express my intentions to the producers of the show. As it stands, they haven’t reached out since I stepped away from the show, so it’s not guaranteed that a comeback would even be possible at this point.
Last time Keo Motsepe danced on Dancing With the Stars was during season 29, partnered with the late actress Anne Heche. However, he hasn’t disclosed the reason for not coming back, but earlier suggestions indicate that the decision wasn’t his own.
Although it’s sad not to return for season 30, I feel privileged to have been part of the show for the past nine seasons and eagerly anticipate a future comeback, Keo, who joined Dancing With the Stars in 2014, expressed to Us Weekly in 2021. “This season boasts an exceptional cast, and I extend my best wishes to all the dancers and the show for their success!”
However, he expressed a strong desire to revisit the ballroom someday, telling The U.S. Sun in November, “Without a doubt, I want to come back 100%.
Stepping into a fresh chapter of my life, my passion for dance and the anticipation of what’s ahead are burning brighter than ever! In season 31, I danced my heart out with Vinny Guadagnino from Jersey Shore, and although the next season saw me partnering with Matt Walsh, things have taken a turn, as I shared on Instagram in September 2024. The U.S. Sun captured a screenshot of my post. I’m thrilled to announce that my future dance ventures are shaping up beautifully, and I can hardly wait to reveal them to you all soon! Here’s to this exciting journey – I feel more aligned than ever!
Initially joining the cast as a troupe member in the 18th season of Dancing With the Stars, Artem Chigvintsev ascended to the professional rank for subsequent seasons, with exceptions being seasons 21 and 28. He won the competition in season 29 with Kaitlyn Bristowe from The Bachelorette. His last performance was in 2023, partnered with Charity Lawson from Bachelor Nation for season 32. However, in August 2024, just days after celebrating his second wedding anniversary with WWE star and former partner Nikki Garcia, Artem was detained on domestic violence charges. Yet, the Napa County District Attorney’s office declared in September that no criminal charges would be filed against him.
Artem and Nikki, who are Matteo’s parents by sharing him, eventually rescinded their restraining orders and resolved their divorce.
Since then, he hasn’t participated as a professional dancer on DWTS, but he did revisit the dance floor in 2024 to watch from the audience.
