Dying Light: The Beast continues the series support for handheld gaming PCs — Steam Deck verified at launch

Techland has consistently made its Dying Light games playable on many different PCs, and both games are confirmed to work well with the Steam Deck.

With a third installment almost here, Dying Light: The Beast won’t be breaking that streak.

Dying Light: The Beast is launching today and has been confirmed to work well on the Steam Deck, earning its ‘Verified’ status.

We know that the ‘Steam Deck Verified‘ label doesn’t always guarantee a perfect gaming experience. However, based on what we’ve seen before, I’m optimistic that Dying Light: The Beast will run well on the Steam Deck.

This is fantastic news, not only for Steam Deck owners, but also for users of other handheld devices running SteamOS. That includes devices like the Lenovo Legion Go S, and even those who’ve installed the software on their Legion Go or ROG Ally – they’ll all be able to enjoy this update.

If you’re using Windows on a portable device, or if you’re planning to buy an Xbox handheld (either model), this will work for you.

In Dying Light: The Beast, players once again take on the role of Kyle Crane, the hero from the original game. After years of being held captive and subjected to experiments, he manages to escape and finds himself in the dangerous new location of Castor Woods.

Crane has changed, becoming something other than human, and in The Beast, players will experience his internal struggles alongside fighting waves of zombies. The game takes place before the events of Dying Light 2, and features plenty of guns to complement the excellent hand-to-hand combat.

Dying Light: The Beast launches today, September 18, on PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
