Dying Light: The Beast Has “The Most Diverse World” in the Franchise – Director

Just got wind of some juicy insights on the upcoming game “Dying Light: The Beast” from director Nathan Lemaire himself! In a chat with Insider Gaming, he spilled the beans about how

In “Dying Light: The Beast,” players will delve into the expansive region known as Castor Woods, boasting a variety of settings such as decaying urban landscapes, verdant forests, and everything in between. This diverse terrain, as indicated by Lemaire, presents numerous opportunities for exploration, catering to every biome a player may stumble upon.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about our latest creation – Castor Woods. After desiring to delve back into something more rooted in reality, we also felt the call to venture into unexplored territories. In this new world, we’ve crafted what may very well be the most diverse setting ever conceived for this beloved franchise. It boasts the Old Town, an industrial zone, farmlands, swampy areas, and even a quaint village, ensuring a fresh and thrilling adventure awaits in each distinct biome.

In the context of Castor Woods within “Dying Light: The Beast”, Lemaire mentioned an abundance of hidden mysteries waiting to be discovered. These secrets encompass those cleverly concealed by the developers in hard-to-find spots, as well as those revealed during regular gameplay. Additionally, the game will feature numerous collectibles that serve to enhance the world’s immersion.

Lemaire emphasized that Castor Woods holds numerous mysteries waiting to be discovered. Throughout the game, players will encounter various hidden treasures and clues. For instance, they can uncover maps leading to secret locations, where intriguing artifacts await them. Furthermore, there are numerous collectibles that provide additional background information about Castor Woods and its inhabitants. In essence, the game is rich with hidden gems and fascinating trivia.

Lemaire’s remarks echo the sentiments expressed by franchise director Tymon Smektala about the expansive world of Dying Light: The Beast, which he described as one of the most richly detailed open-world games available. Back in June, Smektala emphasized that Techland is focusing more on creating a densely populated environment rather than just a large one.

According to Smektala, “Open worlds aren’t just about size.” Instead, he emphasizes that they are about creating a sense of immersion, making the player feel as if they are truly part of that world. This means that even an open-world game that isn’t as vast can still be satisfying if it is carefully crafted and feels authentic.

As a dedicated gamer, I can confidently say that “Dying Light” stands out as one of the most richly layered open-world games available today. The developers aim to create a world that keeps me on my toes, immersing me so deeply that I’m always scanning my surroundings, always in the thick of the action and the atmosphere itself.

The game titled “Dying Light: The Beast” is being prepared for launch on platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. However, the September 19th release applies to the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S versions; the PS4 and Xbox One editions are expected at a future date.
