A major update for Dying Light: The Beast is here, introducing New Game+. If you’ve played other Dying Light games, you’ll know how it works: you keep all your weapons, equipment, and progress from your first playthrough. You can then start new NG+ runs to tackle even harder challenges.
As you play, you’ll find new weapons to combat the dangers of Castor Woods. You’ll also unlock Legend levels – similar to Prestige – once you reach level 15. Keep earning XP, and it will go towards these Legend levels, which boost your health and give you Legend Points. You can spend these points to further increase your health, activate Beast Mode, or deal more damage.
As a huge fan, I’m really excited that cranking up the difficulty and playing through New Game+ actually gives you more XP! It feels great knowing that taking on those tougher challenges isn’t just about bragging rights. The rewards are awesome too – you unlock 22 new weapons, 12 pieces of gear (enough for two complete outfits!), and even some seriously cool Legendary skins for your vehicles as you climb through the Legend Levels. It definitely makes pushing yourself worth it!
On top of everything else, Update 1.4 adds ray tracing with quality options ranging from Low to Ultra. The Ultra setting automatically includes Frame Generation. Plus, players can now enjoy three new finishing moves for certain weapons – a really nice addition!
There’s currently double experience available in Dying Light: The Beast, making it a great time to play or return to the game. If you’re unsure whether to jump in, you can read our review for more information.
