Building on the popularity of Dying Light and Dying Light 2, Techland created Dying Light: The Beast, a new installment featuring the return of the beloved character Crane from the original game.
Dying Light: The Beast has proven to be quite popular since its release in early September. The developers at Techland have followed up with plans for significant updates, and announced details in a blog post this past Thursday about what’s coming next.
As a huge fan, I’m so hyped for the next few weeks! The developers are promising a ton of updates that will really add to the replay value and give us more to do after beating the game. I’m especially excited about New Game+, Legend Levels, and Nightmare Difficulty. Plus, they’re adding new weapon executions, Ray Tracing for PC players, and a cool crossover with PUBG Mobile! Honestly, it sounds like there are even more awesome things coming that they haven’t even revealed yet, which is just incredible!
Techland recently announced that players will have 22 challenges to complete over the next 11 weeks, offering 23 rewards, including one legendary item. They asked players, “Are you ready to answer the Call of the Beast?”
Players will receive a special legendary reward if the community completes 17 out of 22 challenges. If they complete 20 challenges, everyone who participated in at least one challenge will receive all rewards earned up to that point.

I hope completing these challenges doesn’t discourage anyone from continuing to work hard. I certainly plan to put in even more effort, as Dying Light: The Beast was one of my top games of 2025.
I’m really hoping the game has a system for lasting character builds, like permanent blueprints. Actually, I’d love it if they added a fun, unique item like the Paper Airplanes from the first Dying Light. I’m also excited about Legend Levels and the Nightmare difficulty. Everything will look amazing once ray tracing is released, and I’m planning to build a new PC to enjoy it!
Week 1 is in full swing

Techland has already announced the details for week 1:
Community Challenge: A Season to Dismember
- Goal #1: Cut off 30,000,000 limbs
- Reward: Lumberjack Car Skin
- Goal #2: Cut off 60,000,000 limbs
- Reward: Woodchopper Axe
Will people come together to help? A recent tally shows over 30 million have already joined in!
I’ve been thinking it would be great to keep track of how many people I’ve helped transform their lives. I’ve definitely helped at least a couple hundred people just this week!
Dying Light is worth every penny

The holiday season is in full swing for gamers, with big releases like Battlefield 6 and Borderlands 4 already out. More games are on the way soon, including Ninja Gaiden 4, Outer Worlds 2, and ARC Raiders.
It’s easy to overlook Dying Light: The Beast with so many games coming out, but it’s definitely worth checking out – don’t miss it!
After playing for over 30 hours, I still feel like I’ve only seen a small part of what this game offers. Even though I’m far into the main story, I keep discovering new things – whether it’s a powerful weapon, a crafting recipe, or an interesting side quest. The world of Dying Light: The Beast has been consistently engaging and terrifyingly fun for many hours now.
Dying Light: The Beast is available for Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5.
