This week on July 16th, Electronic Arts (EA) plans to unveil its upcoming football game, EA Sports FC 26, in full detail. In a recent post on social media site X, the company also shared that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will grace the cover of the Ultimate Edition version of this game.
It’s important to mention that EA has only confirmed that they’ll release the reveal trailer tomorrow, but they haven’t shared any additional information about the game. However, since Ibrahimovic is featured as the cover athlete for the Ultimate Edition, we can expect him to appear in the game alongside other legendary athletes who will be part of the game’s roster when it’s released.
Based on the franchise’s past release patterns, it’s expected that we’ll get a glimpse of EA Sports FC 26 around September. This game could potentially be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. There’s also speculation about an announcement for the Switch 2. However, whether EA plans to release the game for the previous generation consoles remains unclear at this time.
Initially, EA had hinted at bringing their sports games to the Nintendo Switch 2. But in an April statement, they suggested that the releases for sports titles like EA Sports FC and Madden NFL on the Nintendo Switch 2 might offer a uniform gameplay experience across platforms, limited by the hardware capabilities. This could potentially result in the Nintendo Switch 2 version of these games having fewer features compared to their counterparts on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
EA is thrilled to announce that two of their popular series, EA Sports FC and Madden NFL, will be coming to Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 console. This means fans can play their favorite sports games anytime, anywhere. Both versions have been designed uniquely for the handheld platform, taking into account what fans love about these franchises across various platforms. We can’t wait to reveal more details soon.
The company declined to confirm if the Switch 2 editions of their games would offer cross-platform multiplayer, but they did mention that these games will be tailor-made for the upcoming Switch 2 system.
“The company is thrilled to introduce two of their popular brands, EA SPORTS FC and Madden NFL, on Nintendo’s upcoming handheld device, Switch 2. This move presents a fantastic chance to connect with a larger audience, particularly young gamers, who can enjoy their favorite sports.”
Over the past few months, I’ve been eagerly awaiting updates for last year’s EA Sports FC 25. To my delight, they released a significant update in April, introducing their very first season pass – the Premium Pass! This exciting addition could be purchased using either 500,000 coins or 1,000 FC points, which is roughly equivalent to about $10. As I progress through the game and complete various objectives, I’m thrilled at the prospect of earning rewards throughout this season pass.
In summary, the initial season pass offered a total of 40 levels with various rewards such as Ultimate Team packs, player upgrades (Evolutions), unique player items, and decorative items.
You asked. Zlatan is back.
