The annual EastEnders Christmas special is a hugely popular TV event, consistently attracting millions of viewers. Over the years, it’s delivered some unforgettable moments – from iconic scenes like Den Watts divorcing Angie, to dramatic storylines like the murder involving six women from Walford. You can always expect plenty of drama in Albert Square during the festive season.
This time is no exception, with a jam-packed two weeks of drama, intrigue and nostalgia.
Expect some changes to the usual TV schedule to make room for holiday programming. If you’re hoping to see Pat Evans return to EastEnders or discover who’s been bothering Zoe Slater, you might need to check updated listings.

EastEnders Christmas 2025 schedule
The BBC soap normally broadcasts from Monday to Thursday at 7:30 PM. However, there will be some schedule adjustments over Christmas week, with two episodes airing on Christmas Day itself.
- Monday, 22nd December: 7.30pm (30 minutes)
- Tuesday, 23rd December: 7.30pm (30 minutes)
- Christmas Eve: 6:55pm (30 minutes)
- Christmas Day: 7:45pm (30 minutes) and 9:45pm (30 minutes)
- Boxing Day: 9:30pm (30 minutes)
EastEnders New Year schedule
Luckily, things are back to normal during the last week of 2025, heading into 2026.
- Monday, 29th December: 7:30pm (30 minutes)
- Tuesday, 30th December: 7.30pm (30 minutes)
- New Year’s Eve: 7:30pm (30 minutes)
- New Year’s Day: 7:30pm (30 minutes)
- Friday, 2nd January: No episode as usual
I’m still waiting to find out exactly which episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer early – around 6am, hopefully! But I’m guessing they won’t put all the really important ones up then; they’ll probably save those for when they air on TV later in the day.
