On EastEnders, Sam Mitchell, played by Kim Medcalf, appears to be taking advantage of Nigel Bates, portrayed by Paul Bradley.
The iconic Walford character reappeared at the close of last week’s shows, initially observed watching Zoe Slater, and officially returned on Monday.
She unexpectedly went to her brother Phil’s house, opened his safe, and started to leave with a handful of cash when Nige intervened.
Fortunately, Sam’s early-onset dementia caused him to believe the woman was his daughter, Clare (Gemma Bissix), and he let her go.

It didn’t take me long to figure out what was going on, and after hearing a pretty hazy description of who did it, my gut immediately told me it was Nicola Mitchell – played by Laura Doddington, of course. I just knew it was her.
Clearly upset after being corrected, he stormed out of Nic’s house and spotted Sam sprinting down Bridge Street.
She planned to meet her son, Ricky (played by Frankie Day), and explain that, even though she hadn’t always been a perfect mother, she wanted to ensure his financial security by establishing a trust fund for him.

Just like Sam Mitchell always does, she decided to run away. But Ricky’s father, Jack Branning, quickly found her at the subway station, where she shockingly told him she was seriously ill.
Tonight’s episode was particularly tough to watch. Dot Cotton discovered a lump and, understandably, she’s terrified she might have cancer, just like her mum, Peggy. It was heartbreaking. Jack was rightly concerned and asked why she hadn’t seen a doctor, but the moment was completely derailed by Phil, who just barged in demanding his money back. Honestly, the timing couldn’t have been worse – it felt incredibly insensitive and really highlighted Phil’s self-absorption.
Denise Fox, Jack’s colleague, eventually found Sam. Despite a long-standing dislike for each other, they unexpectedly reached an agreement: Denise offered Sam £20,000 if Sam agreed to a medical check-up.

She also had to stay and join the Slaters for dinner. Sam initially upset Jean by bringing up her daughter Stacey and Zoe coming back, but then figured out Jack and Denise weren’t serious about their money offer.
Desperate for money, she attempted to reconcile with her brother, but he wouldn’t let her stay with him and made it clear he didn’t want to rebuild their relationship.

Just as she was getting ready to go, Nigel offered to help. He explained that Phil wasn’t the only one who had savings, and he was willing to share them with her, reminding her that he’s her father.
Sam decided not to correct him and sat beside Nige with a sinister look on her face.
Will she really take his money?
