EastEnders airs dramatic consequences for Zoe Slater as she returns to Albert Square in BBC iPlayer release

When Zoe left the hospital, she felt worried, but the police told her the shooting was related to gang activity and that she was now safe.

Zoe didn’t know Jack Branning and Ravi Gulati had accidentally caused her injuries. She was anxious to keep her whereabouts secret and moved in with Stacey Slater.

However, Zoe didn’t know that her cousin, Freddie, and her great-grandmother, Mo, had already shared what happened to her on the internet.

Zoe, feeling overwhelmed by her mum Kat and stepdad Alfie, went outside for some fresh air. She ended up at the café, where Vicki Fowler confronted her about her involvement in Den Watts’ death.

When Zoe stood her ground and fired back with a threat of her own, Anthony Trueman and Kathy Cotton intervened.

Anthony showed he still very much cared for his ex Zoe, while Kathy threw Zoe out.

Vicki went inside The Albert after Zoe, and they immediately started arguing with sharp, hurtful remarks.

I was struck by how, even after everything that happened, Zoe kept checking online for news about Greg Dolan – Dean Williamson, the man she’d defended herself against. It was like she desperately needed to know if he was still alive, if he’d survived.

Zoe was having fun playing games with her family at The Queen Vic when she suddenly saw something in the newspaper that shocked her – her own name!

Back at the house, Zoe left a message for Max Branning (Jake Wood), saying she needed to talk.

Zoe felt incredibly vulnerable, believing someone linked to Greg Dolan was targeting her.

She said, referring to her missing son, “He has to be out there somewhere. Everything I’ve done can’t be in vain.”

Demanding that Max came to get her, will he comply? And what will Zoe’s next move be?
