Be aware: the following contains significant spoilers for the EastEnders episode that aired on October 22nd, 2025. It is currently available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
In the most recent episodes of EastEnders, Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) finally admitted he was responsible for the car accident that hurt Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness).
Nigel, who had dementia, became disoriented and frightened after accidentally hitting the girls with his car. His wife, Julie (Karen Henthorn), then falsely claimed she had been driving at the time.
Nigel woke from a vivid dream and suddenly remembered the accident, along with Jasmine’s puzzling statement: “She needs to pay for what she did.”
Nigel jotted down his recollections, then quietly went to the hospital to see Gina and Jasmine. When he asked Jasmine about the night of the accident, she falsely told him that Julie was correct – that he hadn’t been there.
Jasmine was hiding her real intentions, and when Nigel kept asking questions, she told him to go away.
Julie found Nigel and firmly stuck to her made-up story, emphasizing they had to keep it quiet so she could continue caring for him.
Back home, Nigel was troubled by scattered memories. While going through his trash, he found his shoes, and noticed they had bloodstains.

Oscar Branning visited Jasmine, but upset her by questioning where her mother was and why she wasn’t there with her.
Jasmine said her mother lived overseas and had a demanding job, but Oscar and I both doubted it was true.
Once Jasmine invited Oscar out, she looked through a fruit basket gift and found a card that read: “Get some rest and feel better soon – we need you back to your best!”
The plot thickens!
Nigel confessed to causing the crash to Jack Branning, and then surprisingly asked Jack to arrest him.
Will Nigel go to prison?
As for Jasmine, is she in Walford on a secret revenge mission, orchestrated by a higher power?
