Could Max Branning and Cindy Beale teaming up in EastEnders spell disaster? We have a feeling it will!
It’s clear these two will never resolve their differences, a fact made obvious when a messy situation during the holidays became public earlier this year, playing out like a classic soap opera storyline.
They didn’t recognize each other, and it was clear they weren’t interested in seeing each other again.
Even though they have a difficult past – Max tragically killed Cindy’s son, Steven – they surprisingly found some common ground in today’s episode.

This follows accusations that Max attempted to kiss his son Oscar’s girlfriend, Jasmine. However, Jasmine made up the story to cover up her secret plan to leave Walford.
Jasmine is in a difficult situation. She knows time is running out because she killed her father, Anthony Trueman, and her mother, Zoe Slater, is taking the blame.
She went to the extreme of pretending she’d tell the police about Chrissie Watts’ involvement, even though she knew reporting it would draw suspicion onto herself.

Max understood Jasmine’s talk of ‘traveling’ wasn’t temporary, and he was set on preventing her from leaving. Oscar was troubled by Jasmine’s claim, unsure of who was telling the truth.
After all, womaniser Max has form.
Fortunately, Lauren Beale realized Jasmine was lying and understood her father, despite his flaws, would never hurt Jasmine. Lauren angrily confronted Jasmine, while Cindy watched with interest.

After Jasmine went outside, Cindy confronted her, making it clear she knew about Jasmine’s malicious behavior and intended to expose her to everyone. Jasmine responded with a threat: if Cindy tried to cause trouble, she would contact the powerful Ford family, who had kept Cindy in witness protection for over twenty years.
The threat sent chills through Cindy, and later that night she met up with Max.
Okay, things really escalated! Jasmine went on a full-on attack, calling her rival a “nasty, cunning liar” and then boldly declared herself the first, dismissing the other woman as just a copycat. The kicker? She actually told Max she’s willing to team up with him to take this ‘sequel’ down. Talk about a plot twist – I’m officially invested in seeing how this plays out!
But what lengths will they go to?
