It was possible that popular EastEnders actress Lin Blakley might have reappeared on BBC One’s soap opera earlier this year, yet her potential comeback was hindered by scheduling issues.
Initially, Blakley joined the soap opera in 2014, portraying Pam Coker – a flower vendor on the market and Les Coker’s wife, who was a funeral director. The duo departed the soap opera two years following their introduction; however, Blakley has occasionally revisited her character since then.
At the start of this year, in February, I was all set for a vacation when suddenly my agent received a call from the casting team. They wanted me to return for three episodes, hoping that it could lead to a permanent role,” Blakley shared during an interview with Matthew Rolland on Isolation Interviews.
Instead, she said: “However, it didn’t occur because I wasn’t able to. I had a companion who I was planning to travel with, and I didn’t wish to disappoint her, so I didn’t.

The actress confessed that she had wished to be asked back after her vacation, but no such request was made.
“But who knows? You never know in this game, and if I did go back, I’d love it,” she added.
Last year, in 2022, Blakley was spotted on the soap opera, and her appearance was during her return to the Square, where she offered support to Ben Mitchell (played by Max Bowden), following a hate crime incident.
Following the tragic loss of her grandson Paul (Jonny Labey) due to a hate crime based on his sexual orientation, Pam decided to return to Walford and urged Ben to express his feelings openly.
After departing from EastEnders, Blakley joined the cast of Emmerdale, entering as Jay Sharma’s mother, Georgia, following a role re-cast in the year 2023.
When discussing her role, Blakley expressed her gratitude at the opportunity by saying: “What good fortune for me to portray a character as powerful as Georgia! It’s quite distinct from the roles I’ve been playing recently.
I’ve savored each and every moment. A fantastic group of actors and staff! Plus, the stunning Yorkshire Dales. Many thanks to Emmerdale for this wonderful experience!
